A node is a point along a standing wave where the wave has minimum amplitude. For the instance, in a vibrating guitar string, the ends of the string are nodes.
By changing the position of the end node through frets, the guitarist changes the effective length of the vibrating string and thereby the note played.
The opposite of a node is an anti-node, a point where the amplitude of the standing wave is at maximum. These occur midway between the nodes.
Two teams of scientists have developed new ways of stimulating neurons with nanoparticles, allowing them to activate brain cells remotely using light or magnetic fields.
The new methods are quicker and far less invasive than other hi-tech methods available, so could be more suitable for potential new treatments for human diseases.
Researchers have various methods for manipulating brain cell activity, arguably the most powerful being optogenetics, which enables them to switch specific brain cells on or off with unprecedented precision, and simultaneously record their behaviour, using pulses of light.
Reactive oxygen species or ROS and free radicals can cause severe damage to the normal cells of the body. This damage can be to the DNA, proteins, and other macromolecules. This damage forms the basis of a wide variety of diseases, most notably heart disease and cancer.
Recent studies suggest that free radicals may be involved in the development of pulmonary disorders such as asthma.
Free radicals can also damage nerves and the brain. Neural tissue may be particularly susceptible to oxidative damage.
This is because the brain receives a disproportionately large percentage of oxygen and has large amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids which are highly prone to oxidation and oxidative damage.
Diseases implicated to oxidative stress include:
•Alzheimer's disease
•Parkinson's disease
•dementia etc.
Increased oxidative stress may lead to membrane lipid abnormalities, mitochondrial dysfunction, excitotoxicity, inflammation, and immune dysregulation in autism.
These abnormalities might contribute to behavioral abnormalities, sleep disorder, and gastrointestinal disturbances in autism.

Other diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid arthritis etc. are also associated with low antioxidant levels in blood.
Oxidative stress (OS) has been linked to the etiology and development of leukemia as reactive oxygen species (ROS) and free radicals have been implicated in leukemogenesis. OS has beneficial and deleterious effects in the pathogenesis and progression of leukemia.
Oxidative stress is a phenomenon associated with imbalance between production of free radicals and reactive metabolites (e.g. superoxide and hydrogen peroxide) and the antioxidant defences.
Oxidative stress in individuals with Down syndrome (DS) has been associated with trisomy of the 21st chromosome resulting in DS phenotype as well as with various morphological abnormalities,
immune disorders, intellectual disability, premature aging and other biochemical abnormalities.

The results revealed a systemic pro-oxidant status in DS individuals, evidenced by the increased activity of some important antioxidant enzymes,
together with decreased GSH levels in whole blood and elevated UA levels in plasma, probably as an antioxidant compensation related to the redox imbalance in DS individuals.

The unique physicochemical and electrical properties of engineered nanoparticles (NP) make them highly desirable in a variety of applications. However, these novel properties of NP are fraught with concerns for environmental and occupational exposure.
Changes in structural and physicochemical properties of NP can lead to changes in biological activities including ROS generation, one of the most frequently reported NP-associated toxicities.
Oxidative stress induced by engineered NP is due to acellular factors such as particle surface, size, composition, and presence of metals, while cellular responses such as mitochondrial respiration,
NP-cell interaction, and immune cell activation are responsible for ROS-mediated damage.
NP-induced oxidative stress responses are torch bearers for further pathophysiological effects including genotoxicity, inflammation, and fibrosis as demonstrated by activation of associated cell signaling pathways.
Since oxidative stress is a key determinant of NP-induced injury, it is necessary to characterize the ROS response resulting from NP.
Through physicochemical characterization and understanding of the multiple signaling cascades activated by NP-induced ROS, a systemic toxicity screen with oxidative stress as a predictive model for NP-induced injury can be developed.
Some of the paradigms for NP-mediated toxicity include oxidative stress, inflammation, genetic damage, and the inhibition of cell division and cell death [8–11].
Most work to date has suggested that ROS generation (which can be either protective or harmful during biological interactions) and consequent oxidative stress are frequently observed with NP toxicity [3, 9].
The physicochemical characterization of NP including particle size, surface charge, and chemical composition is a key indicator for the resulting ROS response and NP-induced injury since many of these NP intrinsic properties can catalyze the ROS production [6].
NP-mediated ROS responses have been reported to orchestrate a series of pathological events such as genotoxicity, inflammation, fibrosis, and carcinogenesis.
An oncovirus is a virus that can cause cancer. This term originated from studies of acutely transforming retroviruses in the 1950–60s,[1] when the term "oncornaviruses" was used to denote their RNA virus origin.
[2] With the letters "RNA" removed, it now refers to any virus with a DNA or RNA genome causing cancer and is synonymous with "tumor virus" or "cancer virus".
The vast majority of human and animal viruses do not cause cancer, probably because of longstanding co-evolution between the virus and its host.
Oncoviruses have been important not only in epidemiology, but also in investigations of cell cycle control mechanisms such as the retinoblastoma protein.
The World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer estimated that in 2002, infection caused 17.8% of human cancers, with 11.9% caused by one of seven viruses.
A 2020 study of 2,658 samples from 38 different types of cancer found that 16% were associated with a virus.
So basically out of 2658 cancer cases ...425 cases are caused by viruses (biological nanoparticles).
Some vaccines contain live, attenuated microorganisms. Many of these are active viruses that have been cultivated under conditions that disable their virulent properties, or that use closely related but less dangerous organisms to produce a broad immune response.
So basically every time a child is administered a vaccine... their lives are put at risk by every known disease related to oxidative stress.
