🇺🇸 Today we will be dealing briefly with the most frequent anomalous courses of the coronary arteries. Let´s go for it.

🇪🇸 Las coronarias salen por debajo de la unión sinotubular, se considera anómalo si lo hacen, al menos, 1cm distal a la unión (👇🏽)

🇺🇸 The coronary arteries rise beneath the sinotubular junction. If they rise, at least, 1 cm above the junction, it´s considered abnormal (👇🏽)

🇪🇸 Esto puede originar que la coronaria derecha salga del seno izquierdo (1/500) o que la coronaria izquierda (CI) salga del seno derecho (1/2000)

🇺🇸 This can cause the right coronary to rise from the left sinus (1/500) or the left coronary (LC) from the right sinus (1/2000)

🇪🇸 Este software de reconstrucción de TC muestra una coronaria derecha (CD) saliendo del seno izquierdo con trayecto intramural.

🇺🇸 This CT reconstruction software shows a right coronary (RC) arising from the left sinus with its intramural course.

🇪🇸 El seno derecho, en 1/2 de casos posee 2 orificios: el grande para el tronco derecho, el pequeño para el ramo infundibular

🇺🇸 In about 1/2 of hearts, there are 2 orifices
within the right sinus, the larger giving rise to the right trunk, the smaller to the infundibular branch

🇪🇸 El orificio pequeño podría dar el ramo sinusal. En 7% de casos, se encontraron 3 orificios en el seno derecho. En 2%, 4 orificios

🇺🇸 The smaller orifice could give rise to the sinus node branch. In 7% of the cases, 3 orifices were found in the right sinus. In 2%, 4 orifices

🇪🇸 Raramente, ambas coronarias salen de un tronco común del seno derecho, más raramente del seno izquierdo.

🇺🇸 Rarely, both coronaries can arise from a common trunk within the right sinus; and even more rarely, within the left sinus.

🇪🇸 En ambos casos, la coronaria que pasa entre ambos troncos arteriales, comporta un mayor riesgo de muerte súbita

🇺🇸 In both cases, the coronary artery that passes through the great arterial trunks, harbingers a greater risk of sudden cardiac death

🇪🇸 Si la arteria anómala se entierra en la musculatura del septo ventricular, la compresión del lumen es importante para decidir la cirugía

🇺🇸 If the anomalous artery is buried within the ventricular septum, the lumen compression is important for asessing surgical correction.

🇪🇸 Hay múltiples trayectos anómalos menos frecuentes, pero no nos centramos en ellos hoy. Espero que haya sido de vuestro interés 🙂
