I find some time to update the demographic data for central/eastern Europe and estimate the Ukraine population for 2019 using birth data and a range for possible TFRs: 31.3 million vs 31.9 in 2018, with 95% C.I. given by 30-32.5. The 2018 estimate is below
The decrease of ~600.000 is reasonable considering,

1) the official natural change in 2019 equal to ~273000

2) people permanently emigrating in Russia and EU (not seasonal workers)

3) a certain number of "dead souls"
