Were they Banditos? Regulators? Vikings? Jump Out Boys? Were they just associates, or had they made their bones and been inked?
Secret Gangs of Sheriff’s Deputies Cost L.A. County Millions - losangeleno.com/features/secre…
Secret clique in L.A. County sheriff's gang unit probed latimes.com/archives/la-xp…
Currently in the LASD in Compton, we have the Executioners.

We should wait for investigative reporters to learn the facts.

“We have a gang here that has grown to the point where it dominates every aspect of life at the Compton station. It essentially controls scheduling, the distribution of informant tips, and assignments to deputies in the station with preference shown to members of the gang..."
“Nearly all the CPT Deputies who have been involved in high-profile shootings and out-of-policy beatings at CPT in recent years have been ‘inked’ members of The Executioners,” the claim alleges.
“‘Inking’ refers to the act of each newly made member of The Executioners receiving a matching tattoo indicating membership … Members become inked as ‘Executioners’ after executing members of the public, or otherwise committing acts of violence in furtherance of the gang.”
Sean Kennedy, member of the Civilian Oversight Commission and professor at Loyola Law School, said Thursday that he and his students have identified at least 17 gangs — some of them historical — in the department.
I don't know what is going on here. I will only say that if something looks like a retaliatory gangland shooting against LASD deputies in Compton, it could be exactly that.

No, it's just a country in which wealthy people paid for their opinions now also feel they must hide their beliefs.
The vast majority of Americans have always had to hide one or more of their beliefs in public life at one time. Only a privileged few have never had to make those decisions. Now, as soon as they are slightly uncomfortable facing any restraint at all, the world is ending.
Blacks, women, Jews, Catholics, "ethnic" whites, any other racial minority, socialists, pacifists, gays, &c. for most of our history faced limits in their ability to express themselves freely without public and professional consequences, to put it mildly, and many still do today.

These are bad people, no doubt, but don't forget how many of them are true fuckups, scraping-the-bottom-of-the-barrel losers who would have no hope of being a third-tier report to the positions they hold now if this were a normal administration.
Such minions only do harm to their master; no moderately intelligent person would think their pathetic servility makes up for their total incompetence.
Donald Trump and his administration are the best evidence for Confucianism I can imagine.

I have been wondering if the slight reduction in Biden's margin in the national polling average over the past few days is a real change or driven by the recent polls being online and not live.

These live results do not suggest any tightening of the race.
Biden is probably not up by 13 in Florida right now, but he is very likely leading by at least high single digits.
You can say "Biden is barely hitting 50%!" and "This is not a likely voter poll!" as much as you want.

This still looks like a Biden + 10 race nationally. That's called a landslide.

This doesn't even include marketing expense, legal fees to develop basic contracts for families, and probably many other things, and this isn't going to be a 40 hour per week job. Probably at least 60, which means less than $10 per hour.
Maybe teachers would do this for exposure.

One group that conspicuously refused to change its behavior over the past few months was law enforcement. They did not think they needed to cut back on murdering women in illegal no-knock raids, or covering up lynchings, or arresting people on complaints of fake $20s.
With a hundred thousand people dying and a quarter of the economy shut down, was there any thought that maybe they should try to keep a lid on things to avoid triggering exactly this kind of civil unrest in a tense and dangerous environment? Nope.
Not to mention turning jails across the country into plague factories as a matter of policy, while prosecutors and judges locked themselves away.

This article strongly contrasts the public statements of SF/CA and NYC/NY officials, but does not make much of a case that the timing of official actions was very different.
NY banned large gatherings on March 12, one day after SF, and told remaining events/bars/restaurants to reduce capacity. SF, LA, and NYC closed public schools the same day (March 16).
In NYC, as elsewhere, voluntary and private sector social distancing preceded official orders, and was well underway the week of March 9, with large employers starting to take action even earlier.
