Gender equality discussions : An unpopular opinion. A lengthy thread but would urge readers to bear with me till the end.
Latest NCRB data - # of men who died by suicide is 2.5 times the # of women. 97,613 men died by suicide in 2019 alone.

While the nation is still busy with #SSR ,above data didn't find a mention in any visual medium. We see tweets by women pleading for help and blaming husbands, most of which are dismissed later as false accusations, but by that point, damage is done.

First suspect in any negative household experience is the male. While misandry catalyzes the suicidal trend further, it doesn't help us achieve a gender neutral society. This trend needs attention and analysis of causes & potential solutions to make society gender neutral
Causes -
1. #GenderBiasedLaws - 50+ IPCs designed for WOMEN ONLY. NONE FOR MEN to report any form of abuse, physical or mental.
2. Legal Machinery - Lawyers, police, feminist orgs are all used as tools by some women to harass men and their families.

3. Feminist Organisations - Established to support women, they have created a bias where in they have ended up supporting wife's only without any regards to the rights of MIL, SIL; and many times suggest/force/glorify false accusations against men

4. Disregard for men's emotional state by judiciary (and society) - Judiciary often struggles to accept evidence against wife, but wife's verbal statement is considered as ample proof.
5. Unreasonable maintenance/alimony ordered by courts.

Solutions -
1. #GenderBiasedLaws - Men need to have equal set of laws to report abuse by women.
2. #FakeCases - When cases are proved fake, equal punishment for female counterpart, along with monetary compensation for men equivalent to the maintenance/alimony demanded.
3. Stridhan - All things exchanged to be put on a legal doc and signed by both husband and wife during marriage
4. Lawyers - When cases are proved fake, lawyers to be scrutinized before being allowed to practice again. If a pattern is seen, BAR license should be cancelled.
5. Judiciary - Evidence provided by men should be considered equally critical before giving judgement
6. #ParentalAlienation - Non adherence to courts orders should be punishable and any vidence of wife's mental instability should be considered before deciding child custody
7. Matrimonial websites - 'Salary' filter to be removed, men enter false figures and end up attracting #GoldDigger
8. Freebies to women - Any facility introduced in schools, colleges, workplace should be made available to both genders

9. Feminist Orgs - To be monitored & discouraged in promoting fake cases, any such employee should be tried in court and financiers should be informed.
10. Media - Needs to start highlighting men's issues and not be pressurized by feminist orgs to support fake feminism
Let’s discuss this with more views and ideas.
More importantly, men should not be merely seen as providers but as active contributors to both family and society. let's hope this critical subject gets the attention it deserves #GenderEquality
