@IngrahamAngle Did anyone actually read the law? Literally *all it does* is make things treat LGBT people and straight people the same way. That’s it.
@IngrahamAngle California law allows judges in *certain circumstances* to not put people on sex offender registries if - say - they’re really similar ages but either side of the age of consent. For example it’s a seventeen year old boy and an eighteen year old girl.
@IngrahamAngle But at the moment that only applies to vaginal penetrative intercourse and so cannot apply to same sex couples. Literally *ALL THIS LAW DOES* is make it so the judge can decide not to put people on a sex offender register if they’re same sex.
@IngrahamAngle Laura is *no kind of journalist at all* if she’s telling you that this law is about making pedophilia more acceptable. Or that Democrats would *ever* want that. It is simply untrue, scaremongering and a complete deformation of the law.
@IngrahamAngle By the way, it also doesn’t make those sexual encounters legal in anyway. They’re still crimes with associated punishments. All it talks about is whether people go on sexual offender registers or not.

Just a quick reminder for people following @PeteButtigieg’s statements on limiting free tuition. One of the biggest problems to helping the poorest in society is take-up of benefits.
Often the poorest people are over-worked, over-stressed or don’t feel able to navigate the forms and structures of the federal government.
In addition, if programs are only given to the poorest in society they can become stigmatized, marks of embarrassment or humiliation, like having to live on food stamps.

@realDonaldTrump I’m honestly stunned you’d write something like this. Suggesting that a completely legal process, going through all the correct steps, which is unlikely to go through the Senate without Republican support constitutes a “coup”
@realDonaldTrump No one’s “religion” or “vote” is at threat because Congress decides to engage in an inquiry about the possibility of impeachment. Any changes to gun laws will happen as part of the democratic process through our elected representatives.
@realDonaldTrump When people challenge you because you appear to be leveraging the power of the US to further your own political career and investigate your opponents, rather than to work in the interests of American citizens, this is not an attack on democracy, it is explicitly in defense of it.

@realDonaldTrump You’d have to be an unstable narcissist to even conceive of such a thing. Muslim bans, racist attacks on democrats, tax cuts for the rich, hypocrisy on the deficit and debt, removing environmental protections, response to Charlottesville, appointing an elected sex attacker...
@realDonaldTrump ... a history of lying to the American people at a level beyond any elected official before, routinely attacking a free press, “joking” about staying in office beyond two terms, accusing Obama of not being American, planning to waste tens of billions on an ineffective wall...
@realDonaldTrump ... taking children from their parents at massive scale, violating the human rights of migrants in concentration camps, mocking war heroes, “blood coming out of her wherever”, mocking gold star families, dozens of accusations of sexual assault, association with Epstein ...

The right is up in arms today over Twitter ‘censoring’ right-wing people, who - let’s be clear - have been engaging in threats of violence and harassment against people they disagree with. James Woods’ latest bit of free speech, “Hang them all”.
This is the kind of person Mr Trump is retweeting today, arguing that the public should be able to get the full, unfiltered flow of everything posted through social media, unmediated by Twitter:
I just thought I’d talk a little bit briefly about some of the things that go on in social media for those of you out there who aren’t more deeply connected with the subject, in order to make it clear how fundamental it is that platforms filter content online.
