🌿Paintings by Suvigya Sharma. Born in Jaipur Rajasthan, he is an Indian miniature artist who specializes in many styles including Tanjore & Pichwai. He comes from a family of artists. He has painted for PM Narendra Modi, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Dalai Lama & more🌿
He has been associated with the ‘Make in India’ campaign since 2016. He uses his art auctions as a platform to raise awareness of India’s intricate artistry and trains at least 200 children every year in the painting techniques.
“India’s artists are complaining about how our historic legacy of art & handicrafts is dying but that is where it ends. No one is providing tangible solutions to stop that from happening. (Cont)
-I am aiming to get my students employed in the restorations of palaces and museums, there’s a huge shortage of trained skill in that sector,” says Suvigya.
His body of work is very diverse, I have shared only some of his work.
His story and thought process is very inspiring and teaches us something very precious about how we look at art and artistry as a profession. His profound knowledge can inspire anyone to pick up their brush and pursue their dream.
His passion towards being the guardian of a diminishing art form that his father and grandfather passed down to him as a legacy is profound. It should inspire us all to support our artists, who capture a piece of our culture & share with us through their work and keep it alive.
