Cherokee County, Georgia 5 weeks into full-time school at 3 feet distance, masks optional. (The hallway!!!!)

35 of their 62 active cases as of Friday rolled off today.

So going into today they had 27 active cases out of 42,200 students and 4,800 staff.…
This is a county that opened at near-peak community transmission! Schools are just not high risk settings.

It's disgusting that so many are closed, including in places like DC with microscopic COVID prevalence.
So the real story of that hallway picture -- let the kids go to school and don't put crazy restrictions on them. It's OK. Really.

Never got the hallway freak-out anyway; CDC defines an exposure event as minimum 15 minutes close contact.

Turning point? **NYT*** blasts non-infectious positives from miscalibrated PCR tests.…
"In three sets of testing data that include cycle thresholds, compiled by officials in Massachusetts, New York and Nevada, up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus, a review by The Times found."
"On Thursday, the United States recorded 45,604 new coronavirus cases... If the rates of contagiousness in Massachusetts and New York were to apply nationwide, then perhaps only 4,500 of those people may actually need to isolate and submit to contact tracing."

There will not be much transmission in schools anywhere, regardless of containment or lack thereof. School disruptions have been caused by *community transmission* reflected in schools and ill-advised healthy quarantine policies.
We know this because we have data from all over the world and it is consistent.
The one supposed exception country anti-schoolers flog as if it makes the other three dozen countries irrelevant is actually in line with everything else.…

Top UK epidemiologist/government adviser Mark Woolhouse: lockdown was a ‘monumental mistake’ and must not happen again…
Woolhouse: "Lockdown was a panic measure and I believe history will say trying to control Covid-19 through lockdown was a monumental mistake on a global scale, the cure was worse than the disease."
“I never want to see national lockdown again. It was always a temporary measure that simply delayed the stage of the epidemic we see now."
