Join me and 20+ amazing artists uniting in support of Joe Biden / Kamala Harris! Read about our collective effort and see all of the work (so far!) here:
1. playing with DALL-E or midjourney is undeniably fun
2. AI will decimate some art professions, storyboard artists will suffer first and most
3. Those in favor say it will be a tool for artists to streamline their process…
… but who does that benefit most? Not the artist, the client. I just don’t believe that rates for work will stay the same when half the process can be automated. So yes, that means artists can work more efficiently but will have to do more work for less.
People (technology companies) are continually trying to generate shortcuts for people making art. This can be helpful when the pay is low (though is the pay low because this automation is possible?)
There are so many ways to monetize what you do and who you are right now and I have very mixed feelings about it.
As an Internet person of interest, I think a lot about what my stranger friends expect from me or hope to see from me. Some of us have been in a 10+ year relationship at this point. When a new “here is a way to sell yourself to your audience” I get very wiggly about it.
To be clear: I think people should be able to make money in whatever way works for them. But I do wonder if there is a volume of public audience-driven revenue streams that feels overboard. We’re in this Creator as a DTC Company age and navigating it is weird.
