@scottjstephens Guess I’m up. I agree about the relationships with the C/T/B XOs. If they don’t trust you they won’t say anything.

Maintenance. They need to develop a strong relationship with the BDE ELM WO. The 94 series maintain almost all of your Signal equipment. 1/
@scottjstephens They also need to be active participants in your BN Maintenance meeting. They need to understand the ESR. JBC-P/JCR is huge. When was the last time they were validated? Does your SIGO have a mission command support center account? 2/
@scottjstephens Training. When was the last time they validated and certified the CPN team and retrans team? How were they certified? I’d look in TC 6-02.1 for some guidance on signal training, but I can also send you something 11th SIG BDE used to certify teams. 3/
@scottjstephens Don’t forget they also have a responsibility to train the 25Us down at the C/T/B level as well those guys are forgotten about a lot of times. I’d also ask them about the 8570.1 compliance for the 25 series, especially your 25B. 4/
@scottjstephens The 8570.1 compliance will allow them to get system admin rights to troubleshoot, install software, and create accounts (location dependent). This will be a force multiplier for you. 5/
@scottjstephens 8570.1 compliance is also a requirement for your 25 series to operate their tactical assemblages. They can earn their SEC+ and be compliant through the Regional Signal Training Site, formally Signal University. 6/
@scottjstephens Lifecycle. What does your lifecycle replacement plan look like? Who has computers, by model, by position? You probably don’t have enough computers. The authorization document only authorizes ≈800 computers for an ABCT. 7/
@scottjstephens Something I recently found out. Signal owns the software updates on your tanks and Bradley’s. So does your SIGO have the removable media cartridge special tool? If they don’t know how to use it the PEO GCS guys should be able to help. 8/
@scottjstephens Mission Command Systems / End User Devices(MSD, MC4 etc), the S6 should have a tracker for all of these devices as well. If it’s a computer they should track the model, software version, PM/POC etc. 9/
@scottjstephens The hardest part is getting an accurate picture of your operator training and maintenance status. Actually conduct signal maintenance and make sure it’s supported by the C/T/B CDRs. Once something is identified there are systems in place to fix it. 10/10.
@scottjstephens The SIGO also needs to understand maneuver. We support maneuver, not the other way around. Same goes for the retrans team chief. I would also make the retrans team chief brief at the CAR. I saw the beat retrans team at NTC in 2018.
@scottjstephens This team chief had his overlay drawn out with phase lines etc. when he heard the pro word to jump his team was picking up and out of there in a matter of minutes.
