Sandheep Mittal was the main accused in the 2011 caste riots in Paramakudi, Ramanathapuram. There is video footage which shows him firing from his service pistol. However, to escape clutches of law, 3/n

Sandheep Mittal replaced the bullets from his service pistol, by saying that bullets were used for “practice”. Though CBI investigated the case, it never saw the light of the day and none were punished. 4/n

Further the said Sandheep Mittal was instrumental in the suicide of one Sankalp Anand, who was working in National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science (NICFS). Sandheep Mittal was then DIG (Administration) in the same institute. 5/n

Now, the said Sandheep Mittal, who is on return from central deputation wants no other post other than “ADGP Intelligence”. 6/n

He continues to be on leave. And the @rssorg, wants Sandheep Mittal to be the head of Intelligence. BJP / RSS feel that Sandheep Mittal, if posted as chief of Intelligence, will ensure the victory of BJP in at least a dozen seats. 7/n

The ball is in the court of TN CM Edappadi Palanisamy. Whether he buckles to Nagpur or not remains to be seen. 8/8
