So many things about this SD story: 1) South Dakota Attorney General said he thought he hit a deer when he struck and killed a man on Saturday night and that he discovered the body when he returned to the scene the next day. argusleader.com/story/news/cri… via @argusleader
2) "Ravnsborg borrowed the sheriff's personal vehicle to drive back to Pierre, he said." (Did you know sheriff's lend their cars to people to drive home from an accident?)
3) ""My chief of staff and I checked and it was apparent that Mr. Boever was deceased," Ravnsborg said. "I immediately drove to Sheriff Volek's home to report the discovery and he accompanied me back to the scene. " (Sheriffs also take house calls from state staff.)
4) "My chief of staff and I...." State staff also help their bosses check accident scenes.
4) the @argusleader story also has this interesting note: "The statement was emailed to news outlets through Ravnsborg's campaign email instead of his work email, but the statement uses the attorney general office's letterhead."
5) The car-lending sheriff owns property "just yards from where Boever's body was recovered. " argusleader.com/story/news/cri… via @argusleader
6) The attorney general "was working in his official capacity this week."
