the old youtube video of tom green singing the barrel roll song is gone forever from youtube but stupid shit like "yooka laylee and cultural marxism: a measured response" is gonna be archived forever and showed in schools in 10 years
I don't mean the stupid moskau one. 4chan pestered him about barrel rolls so much he made a slow piano song about it, it was good
Duckroll has evolved as well, with a /v/ spinoff called Psyduckroll (wheels on a Pokémon called Psyduck)
there were these really fun cartoony epic fail guy mspaint comics on /b/ back when "drawwhore" was a term people still used and EFG wasn't just a template. most are gone now
encyclopediadramatica was funny in 2005, by the time it became 4chanpedia/memepedia it was already lame, so maybe around 2006
remember when deviantart girls jealous of popular artists flocked to encyclopediadramatica to shit on them? now they write posts calling them transphobes or whatever

Kill la Kill took a LOT from Kakugo no Susume/Apocalypse Zero which had a clearer message too imo; embracing the good elements of samurai philosophy & Japan's past, channeling that resolve to do good. dedicating your body and soul not to imperialistic despots, but to pure heroism Image
Kakugo dons a suit of armor possessed by the souls of his war criminal grandpa's vivisection victims - but instead of using it as a tool for conquest the way it was originally intended, he empathizes with the plight of the spirits inside; their desire for a less horrifying world ImageImageImageImage
he attempts to make himself feel a pain similar to that of Unit 731 victims... by committing seppuku with his bare hands. mixing extreme empathy for the victims of Japan's imperialism with extreme dedication to nationalistic aesthetics and a samurai-like resolve. ImageImage

it's orientialist to appreciate a culture's good parts instead of making everything about heckin leftism ok

I praise commie animators all the time & think their philosophy resulted in great shit but I KNEW academia finding out about it will result in this
early Disney films are legendary & beautiful but very conservative, moreso later but also to begin with. Fleischer got more conservative after the Hays Code (early Betty Boop vs the more "tradwife" one, no constant collabs w 'degenerate' black musicians)
OP does know about Mushi Pro which only makes me wonder why she didn't bring it up here, it was run in a less money-grabbing corporate way & gave a platform to tons of great creators like Rintaro (who left Toei, IIRC after a union he was a part of failed?)
