Curious person that I am, went up in the mountains Monday on a mission to find evidence of forest management. California stopped managing forests about four years ago. Here's what I found. Pictures tell the story. (Thread)
Downing dead trees and collecting brush.
More...ready to burn.
A prescribed burn in progress.
End result.
Had to have a little fun. Was a few seconds away from going down. Saved myself...😁
Deadly inferno, California, summer 2020.
Can all fires be avoided? Of course not. But good forest management reduces hazardous tree density, fuel loads, drought stress, restores the ecosystem process and wildlife habitant. Refusing to do this is criminal.
Just my opinion.
