if you read the actual article, which Glenn notably fails to link to, you'll find he has (as usual) misrepresented the argument theweek.com/articles/93543…
literally the first sentence of the piece says Russiagate was the biggest political story of 2016-19. it is *the resolution* of the story which has not gotten much attention
one reason for this, I argue, is that @ggreenwald (among others) has made the story radioactive on the left through tendentious misrepresentations, trusting war criminals, and spittle-flecked tirades against people who take issue with his wrong views
nice I suppose to have the argument tied up nice and neat by Glenn doing the exact same thing on this piece itself. anyway here's hoping in future he can find a better use of his six-figure salary than coming unglued at random D-list writers

what I'd add is that a lot of those upper left voters are alienated from the political system, a key swing vote fraction voted for Obama because of populist affect, and then for Trump for the same reason
the strategy that is paying dividends in Obama's former "blue wall" in the Midwest is combining rabble rousing economic populism with full throated defense of LGBT rights, abortion, etc. big premium on fighters who don't seem captured by big money
thriving, profitable website, and a content farm bought it and drove it right into the ground for no reason
you can turn a modest profit in media if you hustle and keep costs (read: executive salaries and fancy offices) in line. you gotta be satisfied with that though, and not try to make Google revenue with bullshit technobabble
depressing to conclude that America is actually quite tolerant of immigrants compared to the rich country average washingtonpost.com/world/2023/04/…
to be clear Biden's refugee policy is dog shit but just in cultural terms you don't see this kind of widespread panic across the whole political spectrum
confused why conservatives would boast about this when the last conservative president was a biliously racist anti-immigrant xenophobe
