Thread on independence. Please read it and tell me I am wrong.
The Tories have changed their tune recently. They are now using the sound bite “the SNP doesn’t speak for Scotland”.
This is a dangerous sound bite. Let me explain why.
1/
The sound bite implies that the democratic wil in Scotland is wrong and the Tories are right. This leads me to question why they would use such wording and are the SNP/SG paying attention to it.
By using this sound bite, they are setting a tone that undermines the
2/
Scottish election process and implying that somehow the democratically elected SNP are in some way not to be seen as a legitimate voice of Scots. Moreover, the May 2021 election may end up being a red herring in that no matter the result, it will not matter.
3/
Being out of the EU removes the EU legal protection for devolution. And by the UK pulling back on its own withdrawal agreement, it’s easy to say it’s the EU that are the bad guys as they have painted that picture for decades and it appeals to middle England’s baby boomers,
4/
You know, the same breed that we have here where WW2 is still ongoing and farmers still plough the land by hand and having an outside toilet was great and getting a loaf of bread from the bread van was “the British spirit”.
So with the EU gone and the UKIM in place
5/
And a major recession and the threat of a continued and sustained lockdown and new way of life, we find ourselves in the probable position that
1. The May 2021 election will likely not happen, and if it does it won’t matter, and/or 2. We won’t be able to protest against it
6/
Furthermore, a rallying cry will reek from the corners of the UK post Brexit to bring power back to London, halt devolved elections and have one single election UK wide. That way, the sound bite of “the SNP don’t speak for Scotland” will ring true as no Scottish elections
7/
Will take place.
I firmly believe that the Union has accepted they cannot win the argument, so they must win the argument by silencing the voice, and what better way to do so than prevent the sound of that voice and the ability for people to rally against the silencing.
8/
You may think “they wouldn’t do that”, but who thought 7 years ago we’d have 60,000 dead, a no deal Brexit, johnson as PM, and a rogue UK state?
If I see it, I hope to god the SNP and SG do and act on this possibility very very quickly. The end game is here!

I have, this morning resigned my membership of @theSNP.
It was not an easy thing to do.
I have met Nicola Sturgeon, Joanna Cherry, Mike Russell and my son received a gift from Alex Salmond whilst he queued for his signed book with my wife.
The SNP

have had my vote since 2010, and i have never regretted giving it to them because my sole political aim is independence.
I really try to do my bit to help the cause. I spend days researching and blogging, just to help get one more Yes vote, however,

I cannot accept 2 things that are ongoing just now:
1. The SNP allowed Brexit to happen to Scotland when they promised they wouldn't. 2. The current SG must become 100% transparent on the AS situation - the truth MUST be known, no matter what.
I've started my Scotland EU comparison blog post comparing Scotland against 11 major areas against all EU member states (inc England) on a population basis. It will all be condensed with all sources but comparison 1 is done.
