The summit was kicked off by @rroudt, who introduced the event's objectives:
• Show how Roam can be a tool for results-oriented journaling.
• Offer specific and simple actions that help newcomers and power users of Roam alike.
• Answer questions from the community.
The first panelist introducing herself was @tracyplaces.
She started journaling seven years ago by starting a gratitude practice. The effect it had was that she stopped complaining.
Additionally, journaling helps her to work through grief and anger.
The second panelist introducing himself was @Jeanvaljean689.
He asks himself at the end of each day: "What has happened on this day that happened on no previous day?"
Additionally, he uses Roam for emotion tracking, which he categorizes into warm, neutral, and cool emotions.
The third panelist speaking was @rroudt about philosophical journaling.
Ramses uses his journal as a mirror to nudge himself toward healthier thoughts and behavior. He reasons freely with himself, giving council using the "you" pronoun give it more power.
Additionally, @rroudt reflects on every day and asks himself three questions:
1. What went well? 2. What didn't go well? 3. How can I act differently next time?
During the third question, he visualizes his desired course of action next time.
Last but not least, @brandontoner spoke about his Atomic Journaling framework.
For Brandon, Roam is the best tool to integrate different life areas. Having a journaling practice helps to cultivate awareness and imagination.
@brandontoner's Atomic Journaling framework is about how you structure your journal.
Having a library of prompts helps you adapt to your changing needs and connect your selves throughout time.
The goal is to get to algorithms of thoughts.
Keep an eye on your inbox if you're a RoamStack member; tomorrow, the transcript and condensed notes will be published.

We're big fans of Roam42's new SmartBlocks feature.
Created by @roamhacker, we finally have a way to automate more of our workflows in @RoamResearch.
🧵 A thread with the best resources to get started.
SmartBlocks currently only works in the beta version of Roam42.
While a test version, it's very stable and well worth getting for the SmartBlocks feature. See here for the installation instructions: roamresearch.com/#/app/roamhack…
There's written documentation about SmartBlocks in the Roam42 help database.
It'll help you understand the philosophy behind the block-type and how to get started creating your own blocks. roamresearch.com/#/app/roamhack…
