Dr Tarun apparently Prescribed Drugs to Sushant Singh Rajput which are listed in the Schedule of NDPS Act as Psychotropic Substances which are not allowed under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines
Prima facie, the prescription appeared to be fabricated. The medicines prescribed by the doctor are prohibited from being prescribed electronically without consultation with the patient
I request all doctors to read the Telemedicine Guidelines thoroughly before prescribing any medicines. Even better to use a secure platform with a preloaded pharma formulary to completely negate the possibility of an error
Always be ready to help your patients but always within the boundaries of highest legal and ethical standards. Otherwise a previously requesting patient can be a future litigation source. Happy to receive comments and discuss more.
