Who broke the functionality of appointments to the judiciary? For the answer, look back to the campaign of character assassination against Robert Bork led by mistress drowner Ted Kennedy.
When Kennedy mounts his slander campaign against Bork, it began the downhill dissent of the judicial nomination process. The success of that campaign made Democrats realize the effectiveness of slander in the judicial process.
And let's not forget Joe Biden's role in this. He bragged about it and hoped it would raise his profile ahead of the 1988 presidential campaign.
pjmedia.com/news-and-polit…
That's right, folks. Joe Biden, who is running as the "moderate" and the "high-minded back to normalcy" candidate, was a key part of the collapse of a functioning judicial nominating process.
Which leads to the slander campaign against Clarence Thomas in 1991, engineered by none other than Joe Biden again. Along with former Klansman Robert "Sheets" Byrd, which has its own ironic overtones attached to it if you think about it.
Follow that up with the Tom Daschle led crusade against Miguel Estrada purely because Democrats couldn't allow President Bush to appoint a Hispanic to the courts. That was pure racism, along with the Thomas attempt. cbsnews.com/news/gop-fails…
Follow that with such jurists as Priscilla Owen, Charles Pickering, and Janice Rodgers Brown, who Democrats filibustered for Bush's entire first term. The case against Pickering was especially egreious because they accused him of racism even though Pickering...
...was a civil rights crusader for his entire career. More baseless slander from Democrats, who define "legitimacy" as them getting their way all the time.
cbsnews.com/news/judge-pic…
Then there's the threatened filibuster of Samuel Alito, which was led by none other than Barack Hussein "the filibuster is a relic of Jim Crow" Obama. The vile nature of the attacks on Alito's character (some of which leveled by mistress drowner Ted Kennedy) drove his wife...
...out of the hearings in tears.
nypost.com/2006/01/12/ali…
And who can forget the coordinated Democrat-Media hit job on Brett Kavanaugh? In true form, the Democrats, in a desperate attempt to relive the glory days of tanking Judge Bork, set out to convince the country that Kavanaugh was not just hiding his seedy attempts to...
...take advantage of a girl as a teenager, they set out to cast him as a serial gang rapist. The fact that the filibuster had already been burned to the ground and the earth salted where it once stood is the only thing that salvaged Kavanaugh from Bork's fate. Again, thanks...
...Harry Reid.
And now, after all of this, anyone wonders why no one takes seriously the protestations of the Democrats about the court's "legitimacy." There is not a single time that Republicans set to assassinate the character of a Democrat-nominated judge. On the contrary, Republicans...
...blindly acquiesce to whatever person any Democrat president nominates, even if they are an out-and-out racist like Sonya Sotomayor or woefully unqualified like Elena Kagan.
The closest complaint Democrats can muster is that Merrick Garland didn't get a vote in 2016. As if that compares to the never ending slanders against Bork, Thomas, Pickering, Estrada, Alito, and Kavanaugh, and the presidents who nominated them.
Garland didn't have his name dragged through the mud, so be grateful for that. Also worth noting, the same people who didn't think that Estrada, Pickering, Owen, or Brown were entitled to an up or down vote assumed that Garland should get one.
Not only have Democrats and their allies in the so-called "free and independent press" broken the process of judicial confirmation by substituting slander for legitimacy inquiry, they think the remedy is to pack the courts.
Yeah, let's take seriously people who think the job of the judiciary is to push all the anti-American crap they can't get through the legislature. Democrats broke it in a lust for total power and now they want to be given the keys to the car they drove into the ditch...
...to use Obama's misapplied metaphor.

Just remember that when you vote on November 3rd, folks. Trump's got a lot of problems, and I'm second to no one in pointing them out, but Democrats will break every institution in civil society to get their way.
Republicans, even with Trump, can't cause that level of carnage if they wanted to. Elect Democrats and they will pack the courts, nuke the legislative filibuster, further legitimize riots, and give cancel culture the full backing of the federal government.
Just remember all this when Democrats simultaneously try to pretend to be high-minded & above the fray and pining for riots and undemocratic transformation of the entire United States into the Marxist-Leninist pipe dream they pine for like the fjords.

Rant over.

My Rush story is the opposite of most people’s. He wasn’t the first host I heard. I didn’t grow up listening to him (my entire family runs left of left). I only heard him when I got to college (after several failed attempts since he was out a lot). 1/x
My original line about him was that he was the Johnny Carson of talk radio (more about his vacations than being the pioneer of the radio). But as I look back, that comparison is more true than I realized. 2/x
Rush wasn’t just one of a kind, he was a man of the world and a man of high class. He was generous by all accounts. And best of all, he taught his listeners to be bold. You didn’t have to fear being a conservative. 3/x

To all you people gaming out scenarios where Trump loses and refuses to leave the White House: put down your damned crack pipes.
As if we’re supposed to take you seriously when you didn’t accept the outcome of 2016. You mind-addled clowns still cry yourselves to sleep telling yourselves that Al Gore won in 2000.
You still tell yourselves that Stacey Abrams is the governor of Georgia.

So do us all a favor and go screw yourselves.

One black man’s thoughts on Biden’s remarks on Hispanics having diversity of thought as opposed to black people:
I think on the merits what Biden said was true, but not for the reasons people think:
Let’s face it, black people are a near monolith when it comes to voting and politics.

A cage?

I feel inspired to rant off this inane, self-indulged idiocy that the New York Times is calling “news.”
For starters, Christianity is only a cage if you have absolutely no concept of what Christ teaches. If you have even a childlike understanding of Scripture, you know life in Christ is the most liberating thing you could ever have. 1/
For starters, the apostle Paul writes to the Galatians, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” - Galatians 5:11
