@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 1/n There has been wonderful scientific analysis done and ample real world experience studied, much of it impressively discussed on this forum, making clear that the science of proper response to COVID is not lockdowns, quarantines, isolation, repression and fear mongering.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 2/n The problem is not the science. The problem is what lies in people’s hearts. Some may not like the example, but the problem with Himmler, Stalin and others like them wasn’t that they didn’t understand the science behind their chosen methods of repression, torture and killing.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 3/n No amount of scientific explanation of the devastating effects of their methods would have changed their minds. They had an agenda pushed forward using those as tools, not a scientific dilemma they were struggling to resolve.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 4/n The problem was a defect in their hearts infecting their minds, not in scientific misunderstanding.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 5/n Without changing the hearts and minds of those using COVID lockdowns and repression as a tools to achieve a broader agenda, rather than setting wise policy in the best interests of those affected, the suffering and devastation will not end.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 6/n In Bill Barr’s recent speech on the Constitution and the Rule of Law he described the qualities of a good prosecutor. They apply equally to those wielding authority to sentence millions to suffer under far-reaching policies dictated by governing leaders and health directors.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 7/n “A sensitiveness to fair play and sportsmanship is perhaps the best protection against the abuse of power, and the citizen’s safety lies in the prosecutor who tempers zeal with human kindness,
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 8/n “who seeks truth and not victims, who serves the law and not factional purposes, and who approaches his task with humility.”
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 9/n Many of those qualities, most especially humility, are sorely lacking if not completely absent among those wielding their power to impose COVID policy in states, cities and college campuses across the country.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 10/n And for those who argue such leaders lack knowing malicious intent while employing oppressively damaging policies, but nonetheless do so “only” out of ignorant or arrogant refusal to follow sound science and compassion,
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 11/n the following CS Lewis passage, also referenced by Bill Barr in his brilliant address, could not be more apt.
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 12/n “It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated;
@stacey_rudin @princesseffel @ColleenHuberNMD 13/13 “but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth.”

@EWoodhouse7 1.7 Help. I’m confused. CDC says vaccines don’t prevent transmission but help to mitigate serious illness and death. CDC data show without vaccination only a very tiny fraction of people become seriously ill or die from Covid - especially so for healthy people under 50.
@EWoodhouse7 2.7 CDC and others say there exist ever improving treatments for those becoming ill from Covid.
@EWoodhouse7 3.7 I’m not good at math. Can someone explain the calculus justifying spending $ gazillions having EVERYONE take a vaccine which doesn’t prevent infection but rather TREATS an illness for which the vast majority of people - say, 99+%- is at not ill or at risk of serious illness?

@EWoodhouse7 1/4 If we responded to all disease as we are to covid, downplaying effective treatments and mandating massive assaults on personal freedoms and liberty - lockdowns, mass testing, masks, disinfectants, school, church and business closures, distancing, passports, etc,
@EWoodhouse7 2/4 until a virus with a 99.5% survival rate is “eradicated”, then we long ago would have done the same for cancer, venereal disease, aids, heart disease, car accidents, flu, etc.
@EWoodhouse7 3/4 No one would be allowed to leave their homes ever. We could all just plug into feeding tubes and Netflix until we died. Cigarettes, sex, French fries, alcohol and drugs, cars all would be banned.

@DanCrenshawTX 1/n Pro tip for all Corp CEOs trying to play the “I’m woke too” game. Unless you are the uber wealthy oligarch of a tech monopoly, skip the social justice warrior routine. @MZHemingway @aier @jeffreyatucker @ByronYork @zerohedge @Chesschick01
@DanCrenshawTX @MZHemingway @aier @jeffreyatucker @ByronYork @zerohedge @Chesschick01 2/n Right or wrong, megalomaniacal oligarch monopolists can afford to play that game. You cannot and must not. You are completely ill equipped for it, and moreover that is not the job shareholders hired you to do.
@DanCrenshawTX @MZHemingway @aier @jeffreyatucker @ByronYork @zerohedge @Chesschick01 3/n You’d best not take one minute of time or $1 of corp resources away from complete focus on serving customers, hiring and motivating outstanding employees, and building a quality business to produce strong sustainable long term returns. That is your job description. Period.

@realDailyWire 1/n Don’t forget he also stopped seas from rising, ended world hunger and solved nuclear cold fusion, so he’s got that going for him. But he’s not done.
@realDailyWire 2/n He has nearly completed destruction of the most prosperous and successful experiment in democracy ever, which, in its short history, has: saved the world from fascist tyranny multiple times,
@realDailyWire 3/n done more than any nation ever to raise the living standards of hundreds of millions of people here and around the world, helped feed them and lift them out of poverty, freed slaves, educated billions,

@AmyJacobson @chicagosmayor @MorningAnswer @DanProft Did I miss my invitation to the secret Committee on Dreaming Up Ever More Cruel, Sadistic, Insane, Devastating, Backward, Anti-Science, Policies to Inflict on Innocent People?

@AmyJacobson @chicagosmayor @MorningAnswer @DanProft @EWoodhouse7 @ChefGruel @Chesschick01 @RMConservative @kerpen @robinmonotti @moutet @atensnut It sounds like such fun. It really amps up the creative juices when constraints like science, morality, laws and such are removed. Sub committees apparently have also been established at the State and Local levels chaired by Pritzker and Lightfoot.
