That's not a cry for help or none of that...

My job is searching for the divine in the damage of it all...

And for many of us that looks like an exploration in positivism..."hold up your Bible_____"

I don't approach faith with such a flimsy spiritual rubric

I don't have to be happy all the time to love Jesus or to pastor effectively

I don't ignore the reality that this has been a damaging time collectively and personally

I'm definitely team #ItsOkayNotToBeOkay

I have a therapist, friends, and Daddy's Little helpers... And sometimes things still don't be okay... That's apart of my faith experience as well

Sometimes life with God is not about things getting better... Sometimes it's just about getting through the things.

To take events that we all witnessed ... we actually saw... you were there... we were there ... we were there together

and say... it did not happen

these are not just lies... a lie depends on truth to be present as counter distinction ... it needs truth to be around

Things i cannot say on this report but need to be said...

1) the institutional church has effectively abused an entire generation of women... and specifically Black women... wanted their fruit, with complete disregard for their seeds

2) There is a deep and abiding vein of anti intellectualism running through the church that shackles our preaching and praxis ... it is not the bug it is the feature (why would you send people to seminary and abuse them for using their training?)

Y'all don't understand how wild America used to be...

we used to send Children to a lady house to keep them all day

her only qualification was most of them came back alive

it was like 50 a week.. 60 if they were not potty trained

the babies could be new depending on "what all you got going on"

there were no certifications, no licenses, no examination

you didnt call and check in... there were no mid day photos ... the safety of your children hinged on the timing of her smoke breaks and your relationship with Jesus
