My job is searching for the divine in the damage of it all...
And for many of us that looks like an exploration in positivism..."hold up your Bible_____"
I don't approach faith with such a flimsy spiritual rubric
I don't have to be happy all the time to love Jesus or to pastor effectively
I don't ignore the reality that this has been a damaging time collectively and personally
I'm definitely team #ItsOkayNotToBeOkay
I have a therapist, friends, and Daddy's Little helpers... And sometimes things still don't be okay... That's apart of my faith experience as well
Sometimes life with God is not about things getting better... Sometimes it's just about getting through the things.

when i counsel couples who are planning to get married... The first question i ask is... "Do you have life insurance?"

The second question ... "Who is the beneficiary?"
The Third question ... "if something happens to you does your partner have access to your resources?"
