Friends - we need your help!

The algorithms here are really messing with our reach. Fantastic articles that usually get read by thousands are sometimes now only reaching a handful of people via X.

There are a few things you can do (and if you can see this, please share!)

⤵️
🔔Activate the bell icon in our profile so you see our posts. It's right next to the button that says "following".

This means our content will hopefully appear in your "following" feed and should get screened out less often.

And please continuing to like and share our posts 🙏 Screenshot of Yorkshire Bylines X profile showing the information and options for clicking the bell icon
Subscribe to the Bylines App to access all our content directly, which skips the social media step completely (but don't forget to still share our articles here and remember to tag us!).

The app is free and it's available on Android and iOS:

The Bylines Network and Byline Times are looking to hear from voters who are taking part in today’s local elections, on their experiences having to use mandatory voter ID the first time.

1/4
What was your experience at the polling station? Did you see people turned away for not having ID? Did you or someone you know lack ID, forget to bring the right ID, or were otherwise turned away at the polling station?

2/4
We are trying to collect as many individual experiences as possible, to work into our coverage of this major change to British elections.

We’d love to hear from you as we document this huge shift to elections. Get in touch using the contact details below ⤵️

We've been maintaining a list of Brexit upsides & downsides since the UK formally left the EU. The list is updated regularly, often as a result of readers sending new details through! @DavidDavisMP said there would be no downsides - there are now 178.

We also maintain a list of all the announcements of job losses that are attributed to Brexit. There may be more, but we're strict about the rule that Brexit must be listed as a factor. This page, and the linked article, have been viewed almost 140k times.

And we now have a compendium, recording all the times that ministers have potentially broken the ministerial code, or broken the law. Once again, this is updated regularly (these ministers keep us busy)!

"This despite the pandemic spreading inexorably across Asia, Europe and the rest of the world for several months already, with Britain suffering its first case at the end of January."

@march_change
"Italy for example, had far more reason to claim the pandemic was an “unforeseen” event, only had to resort to single bidders orders on 11 occasions. Spain did the same twice and Germany, with the second-highest number of single bidder contracts, placed 17 in total."
