I’ve seen ICE’s exact justification before: turning a moving car into a supposed deadly weapon after the fact. To justify extreme force.

In 2018, as a public defender in Brooklyn, I defended a man charged with attempted assault on that basis.

More:
The officer said he had to “jump out of the way” and could have been killed. Sound familiar?

Fortunately we found surveillance video.

It showed the officer was never in danger—my client pulled away, and as in Minnesota, the officer was safely to the side of the vehicle.
When prosecutors saw the video, they didn’t just dismiss the case.
They indicted the officer for perjury.

He was ultimately convicted and sentenced. Image

For all learning of disgraced Gov. Cuomo's narcissistic return to politics w/ a run for NYC Mayor, this this thread is for you.

People seem to love him. I & people who know his policies have long despised him & his abject cruelty & injustice. Receipts in no particular order:
Andrew Cuomo transferred elderly incarcerated people at high risk of death from COVID to a *prison nursing home* instead of releasing them.

"It's like they just sent us to just fade away and die."
In 2019, Governor Cuomo hired *500 more cops* to exact violence & mayhem on the subways. Here’s just one example as maskless NYPD cops pushing a man out of the subway after asking them to wear masks at the beginning of COVID.
