it's rly tragic how powerless we are in the face of big platforms like twitter or facebook. our voices are not safe, their algorithms and decisions are barely transparent. they say twitter is not real life, but big tech is a real, and very underrated danger to society
but of course it is not big tech per se that is the source of these problems, it's a symptom. the real cause is accumulation of wealth & power in fewer hands. it's not technology that is the problem, it's power. who owns and controls the technology?
another important fact is the large transformation of capitalism towards an IT driven economy, software is eating the world, data is the new core resource. it's less important who controls the means of production, it's more and more about the control of the means of distribution
by dominating the means of distribution, capitalists can leverage their power to control production. for example, amazon is the world's most valuable listed company because they control the platform; they have high power regarding which producers get to sell on their platform
this is the same for other tech giants: facebook, google (with youtube, adsense, etc.), microsoft, apple, or twitter. as distribution, IT, & data get more important, big tech will have a larger control not just over our labor, but our whole lives.
not only is power getting more concentrated through the rise of platform capitalism economically, through the control of the supply chain, but it's also creating & expanding a system of unprecedented surveillance. they know everything abt you, you know nothing abt them.
the problem is not the technology, it is the structure of ownership. platforms need to be democratically owned; imagine a dynamic world economy based on intelligent, transparent, and ethical algorithms, enabling planning without any bureaucracy, highly adaptable to our needs
if you are interested in such a vision, i invite you to check out my project: @ZER0_App, i'm still developing it, but feel free to follow to receive updates on the launch. it is a user-owned social media platform. the end goal to make it a democratic tech platform. check it out❤️
also, if you are interested in participating, or helping me develop it sometime in the near future, let me know :)

"Is it true that, in general, the economic struggle “is the most widely applicable means” of drawing the masses into the political struggle? It is entirely untrue. Any and every manifestation of police tyranny and autocratic outrage .. is not one whit less “widely applicable”"
"A basic condition for the necessary expansion of political agitation is the organisation of comprehensive political exposure. In no way except by means of such exposures can the masses be trained in political consciousness and revolutionary activity."
in the bg it reads: "solidarity with the agrarian revolution in the Philippines". corporations, such as Syngenta Group with HQ in Basel, now owned by ChemChina, directly exploit the Filipino ppl & impact their communities through toxic chemicals & modified seeds for max. profit
Hi. We are a group of industrial workers and students living in Turkey. We cannot post about the earthquake in Turkey due to censorship. People are being punished by the state for what they write on social media. We need your support to spread..
and prevent the truth from being covered up.
To the workers of the world: As a group of industrial workers and students living in Turkey, we would like to briefly share what is happening in our geography. After the two major earthquakes that took place in Turkey, ..
Turkish capitalism, the government, the bosses and the state apparatus as a bloc, left millions of laborers in the region to die. In the process, which has turned into a delibarate massacre before and after, they are preventing volunteers participating in search ..

what then usually follows is some explanation how they form networks of beggars, sending out children to induce sympathy so you give them money. i'm like okay adolf? why are they often poor in the first place
it's so fucking common, you meet a person, seemingly tolerant and open-minded, and then they drop shit like that 7/8 out of 10 times if that topic is brought up
the british (not only british) ruling classes admired fascism by and large, they only started to fight it bc it started competing against *their* imperialism more ferociously
