I get this when I try to watch the Revs game on ESPN+
these games are usually, but not always "blacked out," a gibberish term IMO. i paid my subscription fee, let me watch the fuckin game. if I subscribe to the local cable TV channel w/the game that's an extra $50/month, absurd
incidentally, the #NERevs are usually very, very good at getting broad, inclusive TV deals set up. In 18 years of watching, I have _never_ had a "blacked out" game until this month.
dear @NERevolution if you're gonna do one of these local TV deals, can you at least do it with a station that broadcasts over the air, so I don't have to weigh coughing up $50/month, and you just KNOW part of that is going to EWTN, god dammit
ordinarily, the solution to this predicament would be for us to go to a local bar, ideally @ParlorSports. But transmission rates in MA are not at 0%, so that is not happening!!

"There are business owners everywhere that need employees, and they can't get anyone to come and work, because the government is handing out unemployment, and people would rather sit on their butts and do nothing and be lazy lumps of blob."
For ~20 years, this man leaned very heavily on an army of unpaid volunteers to deliver his daily bread. His fan club got him show appearances and helped sell merch; unpaid. Convention volunteers picked him up at the airport, got him his tacos, ran his autograph lines; unpaid.
Reading a lot about large platforms banning any sort of sexual content. Back in the 2000s, I once sold a big stack of hentai anime DVDs on ebay. Helped pay the rent that month. Where would you even go to do that move now?
(the only hentai DVDs I still own are the ones where I'm quoted on the box. i will not be selling those precious keepsakes)
several people responded with tales of gettin banned from ebay for doujinshi in the early 2000s.
man. i came back from a trip over in '99 with an armload of secondhand ecchi doujins from mandarake, with the idea of selling them on ebay. i turned like ¥8,000 into $1,100.
halfway through justice league. it continues to be about as good as the 2009 watchmen movie. thinking about a lot of stuff that i didn't really notice in the 2017 cut, like how they made cyborg older and flash younger.
the tweaks to steppenwolf's armor don't bother me, but why did they give him that weird monkey face? they should've made him look MORE like regular ciaran hinds, not less, IMO.
and given him the beard!! i hate these movies' anti-beard agenda.
just like with watchmen, the soundtrack cues are fuckin dreadful, nightmarish. the man just can't help himself, can he??
anyway, still WAY more coherent/interesting than the theatrical cut, I'll give it that 100%.
First of all, obviously you can project that you're speaking from a position of prestige and power at a place like the Seasons. The chain has HIGH standards for its facilities, looks both clean and opulent, top to bottom. They'll have staff on hand to welcome the party.
Secondly, this particular Four Seasons is centrally located, so it's easy for campaign staff, reporters, and even some looky-loos to show up and juice the atmosphere. This place is outside the city center. Like, WAY outside.
35 yrs ago, Harmony Gold combined the 1978 Captain Harlock series w/1982's Queen Millennia series, in order to reach the 65-ep target for daily syndication. It aired in a few markets and disappeared. oh hey look the internet archive's got 61/65 episodes!! archive.org/details/captai…
This particular version is fascinating to me, for several reasons: 1) Harmony Gold had 43 episodes of Harlock '78, but somehow couldn't secure the obvious choice for syndication, the OTHER 1982 Matsumoto series, the Eternal Orbit SSX series, starring Captain Harlock...!
2) Unlike with the earlier Robotech, producer Carl Macek didn't arrange the two shows back to back, with bodged-together connective episodes, but instead freely edited footage from both shows together. He once remarked, "Anytime it got boring, I'd switch to the other series."
