During the same speech, Biden praised the troops, saying: “You’re the finest generation of warriors the world has ever, ever known. Thank you very, very, very much.”

The explosion, which U.S. officials say was perpetrated by a suicide bomber improvised explosive device or "complex SBIED attack," was reported to be "large" in size.
Multiple casualties were reported following the explosion.
