Ladakh delegation: I thank PM And HM for nullifying Article 370 and giving Ladakh status of UT. We have sought powers as per Sixth Schedule. We have decided to end boycott but we expect GoI to address our demands as per schedule agreed
Nomination process for LAHDC polls has been extended by 3 days
Ladakh delegation was assured that all issues related to language, demography, ethnicity, land and jobs will be considered positively/ taken care of. A dialogue between a larger Ladakhi delegation and MHA would commence after 15 days of the culmination of LAHDC, Leh elections.
Any decision so reached in this connection would be in consultation with the representatives from Leh and Kargil. HM Amit Shah assured the delegation that GoI is committed to empower LAHDC of Leh and Kargil and would safeguard interests of the people of the UT of Ladakh.
GoI says it is open to discuss protection available under the 6th Schedule while looking into issues related to Ladakhi people. The delegation has agreed to withdraw call for boycott of the ensuing LAHDC, Leh poll and promised it's wholesome support to its smooth conduct.
