Minister of Hajj and Umrah reveals new conditions for Umrah
1. Only people of age groups of 18-65 will be allowed to perform Umrah in the initial stage.
2- No person will be allowed to enter Masjid Al Haram except after registering on the Umrah Application
3. Umrah permit will be issued for free.
4. Through the application the Ministry will be providing pilgrims housing and transportation opportunities.
5- Isolation centers will be made in hotels. This is for any pilgrims showing any symptoms.
6- Alternate arrangements will be made if people face problem in registering through the approved app.
7- Umrah Performers will be divided into 12 groups each 24 hours and allowed a time of 3 hours each and will be assisted by a health professional.
Regarding International Umrah:
1. The final decision “per country” will be made by the Ministry of health after issuing some conditions and determining the countries to be risk-free in the coming weeks.
2. The Ministry of Umrah and Hajj will enable a special pathway for International Umrah and Hajj pilgrims
3. The Ministry of Umrah and Hajj is working on eliminating physical offices and enabling registration of Umrah and Hajj through official government apps.
Additional Information:
1. The Kingdom will not be imposing any fees to book time slots.
2. The resumption will take place in three phases,
3. This is an easier way for pilgrims to book their Umrah via the app so they are cleared by the authorities.
4) Users downloading the app must also ensure they are registered with the Ministry of Health’s Tawakkalna app to check on their health status and eligibility to perform Umrah.
5) The first phase will allow 6000 pilgrims daily and will be divided into 12 groups across 24 hours.
6. Those who can’t perform Tawaaf without the need of support will have wheelchairs ready for them to perform Tawaf and Saee however the flow of the Tawaf will be consistent with the same speed and flow.
7. All pilgrims will have a specific time period in to perform the rituals.
8. Pilgrims who arrive from outside Makkah and who booked hotels and residences, will be asked to meet at the check points 15 minutes before their scheduled departures to the Masjid Al Haram
9. They will be met by guides and health specialists to perform the rituals in a very specific time period within their booked time slots.
10. Children will be allowed to accompany their parents as long as they are added to the Tawakkalna app under the user’s dependents.
11. Cars will not be allowed to park inside the central zone around Masjid Al Haram with the exception of those who live in the area.
12. Pilgrims who are arriving by car but without a hotel booking will be able to accompany the designated group assigned to the time slot.
13. Pilgrims arriving from abroad will be allowed to enter the Kingdom in the third phase of the plan with the Ministry of Health designating which nationalities will be allowed in the Kingdom.
