Do you have a memory of a stranger making a serious positive impact on your life?
In 1991/1992, when I was 6 or 7, I went to my first baseball game at Fenway. Somehow my Dad got these insane seats, front row right behind home plate. There was this group of 3-4 men (now I realize they were like 21-22) who were really nice talking to me and my Dad.
He told them it was my first game and they were all excited for me. They asked me who my favorite player was, and I told them Mo Vaughn (who later moved to my hometown).
Well, about 4 innings later, Mo Vaughn comes to bat and fouls a ball off, which lands at the backstop...
