โSupport for the law firms that didnโt make deals has been growing inside the offices of corporate executives. At least 11 big companies are moving work away from law firms that settled with the administration or are givingโor intend to giveโmore business to firms that have been targeted but refused to strike deals, according to general counsels at those companies and other people familiar with those decisions.โ
โIn interviews, general counsels expressed concern about whether they could trust law firms that struck deals to fight for them in court and in negotiating big deals if they werenโt willing to stand up for themselves against Trump. The general counsel of a manufacturer of medical supplies said that if firms facing White House pressure โdonโt have a hard line,โ they donโt have any line at all.โ
โHow appalling is it that Trumpโan outright criminal who should have gone to jail for far more than he was convicted ofโis using his official power to punish lawyers for representing innocent people he doesn't like and to deny people the very due process he's getting?โ
What prompted my question was Sullivan & Cromwell LLPโs appalling involvement with Trump:
Our last @PsychoPAC24 ad is this extended video of a few of Trumpโs sexual-assault victims recounting their chillingly similar experiences. It includes Stacey Williams, who spoke out just days ago. Suffice it to say, their courage is inspiring. 1/7
Itโs a fitting finale, not only because their descriptions of @realDonaldTrumpโs abusive behavior so crystallize his
malignant narcissism, but because history will record that in 2024 the womenโs vote saved our democracy and put a woman in the Oval Office for the first time. 2/7
While Iโm at it, Iโd like to thank all of you who contributed to and otherwise supported @PsychoPAC24. We were one voice among many (thankfully!), but I do think we added a perspective that needed amplification. We couldnโt have done it without the millions of hard-earned dollars you so generously chipped in. 3/7
