In response to “horrific” scenes of antisemitic harassment at and around campus, the Orthodox Rabbi at Columbia/Barnard sent a WhatsApp message to more than 290+ Jewish students this morning recommending that they go home until it’s safe again for them on campus:

2/ The rabbi for the Orthodox Union's Jewish Learning Initiative on campus sent the WhatsApp message this morning at 7:29 a.m. to his WhatsApp group of 293 mostly Orthodox Jewish students. It was his own personal statement, not that of the college or Hillel.
3/ Sent in response, he says, to "just horrific" videos of "protesters on campus calling for Jews to be killed, just off campus Jews being yelled at to 'go back to Poland', text messages I'm getting constantly from Jewish students about how unsafe they feel.”

According to the court transcript, "DEFENDANT MR. TRUMP" only spoke six times during the hearing today.

Here are those times:
1/CLERK: Donald J. Trump, the grand jury of New York County has filed indictment 71543 of 2023 charging you with the crimes of 34 counts of falsifying business records in the 1st degree. How do you plead to this indictment, guilty or not guilty?

DEFENDANT MR. TRUMP: Not guilty.
2/After the prosecution asserted a possible conflict of interest regarding one of Trump's attorneys, the judge said "Mr. Trump, as you know, you have an absolute right to conflict-free representation... do you understand that right, Mr. Trump?"

DEFENDANT MR. TRUMP: Yes.

Stemming from alleged 2015-17 “'catch and kill' scheme through a series of payments that he then concealed through months of false business entries"
2/ Indictment says the parent company of National Enquirer, American Media Inc. ("AMI"), "paid $30,000 to a former Trump Tower doorman, who claimed to have a story about a child TRUMP had out of wedlock."
3/Indictment says AMI paid $150,000 to a woman (presumably @karenmcdougal98) "who alleged she had a sexual relationship with TRUMP."
