A former Trump WH official says then President Trump initially refused to tweet the words “stay peaceful” as the attack on the Capitol on January 6th was escalating. This information has been relayed to the Jan. 6 committee, I'm told. (full tweet below) 1/4
As the violence was spreading, Trump tweeted at 2:38p: “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!" But the former official, who was working in the West Wing, says Trump didn't want to say “stay peaceful.” 2/4
Trump was “very reluctant to put out anything when it was unfolding" and was “letting it play out,” the ex-official said of the violence at the Capitol. Top officials eventually convinced Trump to tweet the “stay peaceful” message. The former aide spoke to Jan 6 committee. 3/4

NEW: A top aide to Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-FL says he spoke with both the Capitol Police and the FBI on the morning of January 6th after overhearing a man in tactical gear talk about storming the FBI building just hours before the deadly insurrection.
Alex Ferro, chief of staff to the Florida GOP congressman, says he heard the comments as he and Gimenez were standing inside the lobby of the Hyatt Regency near Capitol Hill.
Gimenez, who was staying at the hotel as an incoming freshman lawmaker, alluded to the moment during an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett Wednesday evening.

Trump rally in MN set up for social distancing as required by state officials. But still a big crowd outside venue not doing much distancing.
Trump supporters getting antsy about social distancing measures in place at MN rally. Rally hasn’t started but some in crowd began to move their chairs together and then were asked to put them back the way they were.
