NYT article criticizing folks asking “Who loaned Trump $421 million?” is weird. Citizens are aware loans came from Deutsche Bank.

Deutsche is a Russian laundromat. It is logical to question $421 million in Trump loans—especially after NYT reported Trump’s finances were awful.
Deutsche in particular has been creative in how it launders money. They created a mirror trading scheme between Moscow and London to launder money by stock trades. NYT always stresses there’s no formal Russia connection yet.

But to assail people for raising questions? Weird.
The NYT is correct in asserting the debt is still owned by Deutsche. But NYT also reported suspicious activity between Trump/Kushner accounts and Russian individuals; $46 million in Trump accounts from shady licensing deals; weird real estate sales between oligarchs and Trump.
This is why Deutsche records are so key. Emails about loans, deposits used as collateral—even if the deposits were in Trump accounts, not Russian ones!—are key to understanding Deutsche’s twenty year relationship to Trump. Did it ignore red flags in cash accounts to issue loans?
I was glad to see the author acknowledge Deutsche should speak publicly on all this. The fact they haven’t (outside brief tweets and statements) should perhaps be a signal they are not being honest with reporters or even their own employees about the state of affairs at the Bank.
Again, it’s possible Deutsche wasn’t coordinating anything illicit in Trump’s accounts.

Maybe it did lend Trump because of his own cash deposits.

But it just got fined $150 million for ignoring Epstein’s laundering.

NYT says Trump was declaring millions in losses each year.
At the very least, Deutsche has set the narrative on this case over and over and each time it is absurd.

“We did risky loans to Trump because we were so desperate for a foothold in the US market!”

“Trump personally guaranteed $421 million in loans!”

These aren’t serious.
Deutsche Bank is an enormous German Bank. Trump was so toxic *no bank* would lend to him.

Desperation? The personal guarantee? Seriously? Trump already defaulted on a loan to Deutsche and took them to court trying to get out of paying. What good was his guarantee of anything?
I’m not really taking any Deutsche executives word on this. Let’s see the accounts, the emails, the records.

NYT: US Intelligence believes the Burisma “emails” released today are forged and part of a Kremlin-GRU attempt to influence the election.
Not surprising to many but glad to see NYT getting Intel folks to comment about fears the Burisma hack is connected to chatter about an “October surprise” and possible forgeries.
So people see for themselves: Image

BREAKING: Trump has filed emergency request at US Supreme Court to keep his accountant/tax records from NY Grand Jury.

This is the second round of appeals of the case he lost in July, when SCOTUS rejected “total immunity” argument and instructed him to make ordinary arguments.
First line of argument grasping for reason to appeal case:

“This Court rarely denies review when a President seeks certiorari. And it has never denied review when a President claims that he is being subjected to unlawful legal process.”

In short: Hear it because he’s President.
SCOTUS already determined this was not unlawful legal process. District and Second Circuit courts said the same—twice. Trump got his first case heard at SCOTUS because he is President; every justice rejected his “total immunity” argument. Are they really going to hear it again?

NEW: extremist group in Michigan wanted to hold a “treason” trial and murder Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The group is called “Wolverine Watchmen.” MI has charged other members outside the 6 charged by the feds for attempted terrorism and felony possession charges. The group discussed annihilating the country in order to “conquer it” and “take it back.”
To clarify: MI is charging for support of terrorist acts; feds charging for different crimes.

This is a QAnon dogwhistle. I wanted to believe Tebow was genuine; instead he says we need to “stop young boys and girls from being sent around the world.” Human trafficking affects ADULTS and children. It is forced prostitution, not some crazy child kidnapping conspiracy.
Kids can be trafficked and it is horrific. But how do we justify sudden conservative interest in “human trafficking” when it *ignores* what trafficking is? It is men forcing women to have sex, for money or other reasons. It can involve minors; it often doesn’t. Why rewrite it?
In *yet another* disservice to adult WOMEN who have suffered throughout history at the hands of traffickers, conservatives are suddenly interested in the plight of trafficking because they theorize it involves children, denigrates liberals, and is “being stopped” by Trump.

BREAKING: The Second Circuit rejects Trump’s second (and final) appeal to block transmission of his financial documents, including accountant and tax records, to the Manhattan DA. Trump will likely appeal to SCOTUS.
The court was unanimous. While the Supreme Court could take up Trump’s appeal, it seems unlikely. There aren’t a lot of hard issues of law here.
“The direction of the subpoena to the President’s accountant, rather than to the President himself ... relieves the President of the burden of being responsible for compliance, thus freeing the President from obligations that might otherwise interfere with his duties of office.”

Hillary Clinton’s national lead on this exact date in 2016: 14 points.

Do not get complacent. Do not trust the polls. Every vote will count.
If you’re in the mentions talking about why these are better polls or pointing out differences, ask yourself why. The only reason to argue with this is if you *want* the polls to be right so you feel better.

I get it. We want to win. But stop doing that. Just do the work.
But for those of you bickering saying I’m wrong:
