The initial testing recommendations were designed to miss community transmission.
When they were updated, a line was added for ppl who had severe ARDS or pneumonia.
While testing protocols were on hold, #COVID19 spread out of control.
It is astounding just how much was not done that could have saved lives...all while Trump held rallies & blamed everyone else for his own failures.
When Trump visited the CDC on 3/6, and said he didn’t want his numbers to go up bc of one ship, it became clear that he was intentionally slow-walking testing.
...as the virus continued to spread out of control
When the Gov’r Newsom of California needed swabs, Kushner told him he’d have to call Trump & ask him personally and then he’d need to thank him publicly in order to receive the testing swabs.
The health system did not fail.
Political leaders failed.
That’s what caused disease to spread out of control, the economy to collapse & the deaths of over 215,000 Americans.

“After all, Barr has never actually investigated, charged or tried a case. He’s a well-trained bureaucrat but has no actual experience as a prosecutor.”

“I was one of the first people in the clinical trial for Moderna. There are 45 of us in Phase 1. This type of vaccine had never been given to humans before, so it’s a lot of unknowns.”
“Sometimes I hear people discussing a vaccine like it’s some guaranteed silver bullet that should be ready to arrive on demand. We’re all starved for hope. I get it. But this isn’t magic.”
Matthew Graveson, 16:
“Everybody keeps saying that what happened to us is a miracle...But another part of me is like: Really? You think I’m lucky? .. I don’t always feel lucky.
At every stage of what we went through, I look back and it’s like: How is this possible? “
Timothy Graveson, 15:
I didn’t even know what a ventilator was. I didn’t know about ECMO or life support. I never had any idea how bad this could get
