All players have certain weaknesses imo. mental strength defines a player despite fallacies. Among the 90s born Ind players, I find Iyer ahead of everyone (the way he seized opportunity by attacking Unadkat is a great testimony). He has in him to be one of the ODI greats! 1️⃣
While currently I don't see him adding much value in the other 2 formats with both Rohit and Virat in the team but going forward He will surely be one who can captain Indian team in all 3 formats. 2️⃣ other players who have impressive mental strength and adaptability are
Imo, SKY, Harshal, Axar Patel, Tewatia, Dube, H Pandya, KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Pant, Gill, Sarfaraz, Markhande, B Aparjith,Parag, Sundar, Chahal, D Chahar, Bishnoi, Vihari, Bumrah, Saini, Natarajan, Gurkeerat, Arshdeep, Abhishek Sharma, Tushar, Unmukht.3️⃣
There might be many more but above guys have grit. Some have already made it big, some are coming into the fore now. Some haven't made it big but are really capable of doing something big. PS: Ishan and Sanju are one's ill keep in my team to demoralize attacks and opp minds.4️⃣
What defines mental strength for me:
1) one who understands his strengths and weaknesses
2) capitalizes or makes up for his weaknesses by polishing his strength
3) Can think clearly under pressure/performs different roles with ease despite limitations. 5️⃣

Gurkeerat, Mandeep, Hardik, KP, Axar, Tewatia, Hooda, Samad, Sarfaraz, Dube, Sundar, Parag etc etc.. what is common for them? They are all lower MO (5-7) batters for their teams in IPL. What do we learn from them? The gap i.e. there b/w domestic and IPL. How? 1️⃣
The gap in playing genuine quick pacers. Why? Simple reason, not enough quality in domestic. So what can be done? Learn from MI and how they groomed Hardik and KP. You need to be patient with them and have to make them play such bowling day in and day out irrespective of the..2️⃣
.. result. On field experience is the best experience and IPL is the platform that can help these players learn without expectations and if given consistent run, you can see the result from the 3rd-4th season (I know its long but that's how it is and its a domestic tournament)3️⃣

19 year old Leg spinner @anilkumble1074 was selected for the tour of Eng. He debut in the 2nd test at Manchester. However, average outing (3-170 runs) meant he was soon dropped from the side for the next 2 years. 1️⃣ Image
26th Nov 1992:
22-year old leggie was called back into the team after he picked up 13 wickets in the Irani Trophy against Delhi while playing for ROI. He hit the bulls eye this time as he picks up 6-53 in the 2nd inngs of the 2nd test in Johannesburg. Overall 18 wkts.. 2️⃣ Image an avg of 25. He continued his prime form when England toured India later in the year. Picked up 21 wickets at an avg of 19.8

🔥 @rahultewatia02 🔥
@rajasthanroyals thread:
Quality 1: Temperament
"Let's take the game deep and wait till the the 15th over. We both have the capabilities to smack 60 runs in the last 5 overs"

Tewatia who had just come into the crease, said the above words to @ParagRiyan..1️⃣
.. who probably had the same plans, got the go-ahead from his senior partner. Like an elder brother, he reminded Parag of his capabilities, and made sure young @ParagRiyan has the confidence to execute his plans. Parag obliged. @rajasthanroyals were 94/5 @/15overs.2️⃣
Both batsmen (@rahultewatia02 7 (11), @ParagRiyan 12 (14)) batting at less than a 100 SR.

2nd Quality: Confidence and Ownership

"You take a single 1st ball. I have a plan against @rashidkhan_19"
Royals had taken 18 off Sandeep's over. For the 1st time in the inngs,..
3️⃣ Riyan Parag hitting Khaleel for a sixTewatia had his share of aggression started against Sandeep.

I m crying badly watching this video. It was always going to be tough for players playing in these torrid times but to have sensitivity towards it and doing that extra mile for these players. @ParthJindal11 and co have done a fabulous job. This video also showed what IPL..1️⃣
..brings to the world of cricket.... it is happiness, an emotion, for many the main source of income.. It also makes me think how hard it is for players who are warming the bench hoping to get a game. Also, how good will it be to see teams like KXIP do this as well..2️⃣
& show the world that IPL is just not some business but a place where cricket thrives.. I hope other teams come with something similar or even better things. Anyway👏👏👏 also my appreciation to one's on the field & covering cricket for us and making our experience better3️⃣

🔥 T Natrajan : @SunRisers 🔥 @TNCACricket.
14th Over, DC 78/3, 82 needed off 42 balls.
Pant had hit 2 sixes off the last 2 balls of Abhishek Sharma's previous over. DC were starting to accelarate, & had two of the best left hand hitters in the modern day game to do that. 1️⃣
SRH had an over of Rashid up their sleeve yet they decided to bowl Natrajan for an over and save Rashid's over for the final showdown. Natrajan started with a pin point yorker on the middle stump to Hetmyer but then misses the next one to Pant. The ball goes for 4lb. 2️⃣
The missed yorker doesn't middle with Natrajan's mind. He bowls another yorker. Pant takes a single. Natrajan then bowls one to Hetmyer, again. On the 5th ball, he tries a bouncer at Pant but was misdirected. Wide. He runs in again & bowls 2 more yorkers at Pant & Hetmyer. 3️⃣

💥Match Review: CSK vs SRH💥
While I was in a humor mode yday, I did follow the match and was happy to see players like Garg, Sharma and Samad shine. The 3 standing up would mean SRH can try out Nabi or Stanlake (if Bhuvi remains unfit) in place of Bairstow or Williamson. 1️⃣
The change would also mean giving Garg an opportunity to bat higher up the order (at 4 probably). It will be interesting to see the status of Bhuvi's injury considering the rhythm he was in. His availability would define SRH's progress in the tournament. 2️⃣
But his unavailability would help the SRH team structure better as mentioned above. So, its a Win-Win for them anyway. For CSK, I am shocked that people find Dhoni's slowness odd. He has been a slow starter for quite a while now. Long break (of over a year) just made it worse. 3️⃣
