PERSONHOOD

Classically, a moral person is a MATERIAL individual who's NATURE is able to discern between Good & Evil.

The Englishman, John Locke disagreed: he required actual "use" of reason; as such, not everyone is a Person - at least not until the age of reason is reached..
if ever & it is not 'lost' subsequently: does a person with severe Dementia or Alzheimer's STOP being a 'person'?

Legally, personhood is conferred by 'common law' or 'statutory law'. In either case, a person is an entity who CAN 'hold or sell property' AND 'sue and be sued'.
As such, "corporations, law firms and schools are legal persons" (though not human); and, some humans are not persons (which is closer to what John Locke thought).

Can a child, any child, every child, hold or sell property and sue and be sued? What about the mentally impaired?
What about people in a coma? Do they stop being LEGAL PERSONS? Do they lose LEGAL protections?

Some laws protecting life, like homicide laws protect 'Human Beings'. Yet, in doing so they do it without protecting 'a Person'.
One can conclude that NOT all 'Human Beings' are LEGAL 'Persons'.

There are some "Fetal homicide laws" and "wrongful death laws" that protect the unborn; furthermore, wrongful death laws protect the unborn as a 'person' since the nature of wrongful death laws protect persons
as a person. You can read about it yourself as I will attach my source at the end of this thread.

The is on other consideration: 'the Constitutional' person.

"A broad definition of 'constitutional personhood' is the status of a human being or legal entity with some or all
constitutional rights. Constitutional rights are normally protected against governmental (or state) action. 'Persons' are protected in the US Constitution in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment, from governmental (state or federal) action."
"In the abortion context, however, the term 'constitutional personhood' typically refers to whether the unborn child is protected by the Constitution or, more specifically, by the Fourteenth Amendment."

"The Fourteenth Amendment protects 'persons,' but the
U.S. Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade in 1973 held that that term does not include the unborn child. Thus, the unborn child is not a “constitutional person” within the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment, due to the Court’s interpretation in Roe v. Wade.”
Past attempts to clarify the differences in 'personhood' have been complicated by the reality that the moral, legal & constitutional terms are NOT interchangeable.

Clarification is also complicated by the fact that the terms can be used exclusively without requiring concurrence.
Furthermore, even IF an unborn child WERE to acquire 'Constitutional personhood', it would not necessarily affect the legal definition of individual homicide laws.

"The creation of constitutional personhood for the unborn will not stop abortion providers from killing
unborn children by abortion. Only a criminal homicide law that establishes legal personhood for the unborn could stop abortion providers from killing the unborn through abortion."
"The public must know that there are many ways to protect the sanctity of human life aside from an amendment to the Constitution that would create constitutional personhood for the unborn, and also take away the abortion issue from the states."
It is very important that readers study this matter more deeply.

You can begin by reading my source (of all the quotes cited above) yourself (the article will do a better job).

.@tedcruz wrote a book: "ONE VOTE AWAY"

AMERICA almost LOST some CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTIONS because 4 Justices were ready to do so.

Republicans do NOT use PERSONAL ATTACKS like DEMOCRATS; the LEFT uses FORCE to pass their AGENDA: to DESTROY AMERICA'S CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTIONS.
H/T to @marklevinshow

JOE BIDEN (the plagiarizer) undermined the confirmation process over the decades. It's in @tedcruz' book.

Some of the worst Justices were nominated by Republicans; they had insufficient conservative records & were swayed by attention at COCKTAIL PARTIES.
Those with solid conservative records - who braved the crucible of criticism - have SAVED America so far.

CONSIDER these cases that AMERICA WON (but ALMOST LOST) with a 5-4 VOTE..

THAT MEANS 4 SCOTUS JUSTICES WERE PREPARED TO HAVE AMERICANS LOSE THE CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION:

@ArthurSchwartz LOVE your enemy: pray their souls & ours are SAVED.

He who:
- forgives little is forgiven little
- forgives a lot is forgiven a lot.

"Wherefore I say to thee: Many sins are forgiven her, because she hath loved much. But to whom less is forgiven, he loveth less." [Luke 7:47]
@ArthurSchwartz "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us" (Mt 6:12).

"Another essential requisite for forgiveness and reconciliation is justice.. its ultimate foundation in the law of God and in his plan of love and mercy for humanity."

@ArthurSchwartz "Forgiveness neither eliminates nor lessens the need for the reparation which justice requires, but seeks to reintegrate individuals and groups into society, and States into the community of nations."

ABORTION - PRO-CHOICE..

"To say one is "pro-choice" in this matter is no different from saying one is "pro- choice" for apartheid, Nazi concentration camps or Jim Crow segregation laws -- 'I am personally against it, but everyone should choose'."

Atheist do not believe in God..

'Seeing' is not the problem; most people who believe in God typically do not see Him.

We don't see 'air' either; but, we believe in it.

In America, when someone is accused of a crime, we are taught that we must 'not believe it'; at least NOT..
until we have heard from witnesses.

Even so, one witness may not be enough; the power of 'seeing' is so great that 'video evidence' is often more convincing.

Yet, in the absence of video evidence, MORE witnesses are usually helpful; particularly when their 'accounting' of..
(whatever the event was) is comparable.

Physical evidence could ALSO go a long way to convincing someone that something did or did not happen.

It helps when information collected about (whatever the event was), the particulars are documented in writing.
