**Controversial thread warning**

The perverse reality of current govt restrictions is healthy, working age people under 40 are the least at risk medically (almost zero) from covid, whilst simultaneously being expected to bear almost all the socioeconomic costs...

(cont... 1/5)
Those at the highest risk, i.e. over 80 years old are arguably the ones paying the lowest price.

People in that age bracket generally don't rely on employment or running a business for their income, they live off pensions, so lockdowns and curfews aren't an issue

(cont... 2/5)
They are also the least likely to have any worries relating to their housing situation.

People in the high risk age group are far more likely to live in a home they own, and likely have no mortgage/rent payments to worry about should their income be reduced.

(cont... 3/5)
Finally, it's a sad fact that most in the high risk age bracket will likely be long dead before the extreme hit to the economy has to be repaid through harsh austerity and tax rises. This is a statistical fact, regardless of covid.

They will never pay the bill.

(cont... 4/5)
This is why we urgently need to look at the way we are responding to this virus and start taking alternative viewpoints like those expressed by the @gbdeclaration seriously.

We cannot continue with this insane cycle of restrictions on our economy and way of life.

(End 5/5)
