(Whispers) I’m worried lots of folks are missing a key point in recent arrests: increasing use of state level terrorism charges. As more & more States Attorney & DAs go down this route, it’ll have real policy, law enforcement, & incarceration consequences apnews.com/article/michig…
Some examples:
If you’re arrested & found guilty for terroristic charges in Arizona, you’re sentence is different than Michigan. Same w/ New Jersey. Or South Carolina. At least at the federal level there is sentencing guidelines for material support. (This is admitted a weak ex)
If you’re sentenced at the federal level and you are deemed to be an continuing threat, there’s communication monitor units, separation from general pop so as not to recruit others etc. Not so much at the state level. (Not saying state should go that way)
Are you put on the US no fly list or selectee list if you’re convicted of terrorism charges at the state level?
List can go on and on. I’m not saying we should go down this route. I’m simply saying we should discuss federal vs state terrorism charges before we get too far gone that we can’t.

Friday Scoop - As part of the upcoming release of our book, Homegrown, (amazon.com/Homegrown-Alex…) I’ve been trying to close out leads I’ve been chasing & tell stories no one has before.

As such, a short thread about initial media coverage, guns, a former marine, drones, & Hamas
In May, a California man’s house was raided by the FBI. He was arrested at the state level for weapons charges.
It was big news locally, covered by the great media landscape in california.
