One disturbing element of presidential politics -- and it's nothing new. This toxic "I'd have a drink with that guy" mentality. When the arguments are, "I want Mr. Rogers over Archie Bunker," I cringe.

The president makes policy. POLICY is what matters, not whether he's nice.
And I say this fully wishing we had a nice president who was always kind (on Twitter and off), who didn't tweet weird articles about fake news and who always told the truth. I'm not out to slam Trump, but we know these are problem areas for him. But...
It's completely toxic and bizarre that people vote based on how much they like a president and/or see him as someone they'd have a drink with.

Who cares? That person will be making the policies that impact you, your kids, your kids' kids and so on.
Frankly, I don't care whom you choose for president. But base it on policy and what the person is doing, not whether he's a mean tweeter, or whether he seems like Mr. Rogers reincarnated.

Also, have a nice day!
