Dear 🇳🇬 40+ constituency...

I was asked to deliver a message to you all

From the irritating group of lazy jobless youth that have caused you some hardships on the roads the past week...

They have heard that some of you are angry about the roadblocks
#EndSARS @seriousbanter_
and inconveniences imposed upon you by the street protests...

For what it’s worth, they offer this explanation....

People have died. Fathers. Mothers. Brothers. Sisters. Children. Cousins. Friends. Colleagues.

Died at the hands of a rogue police force
#EndSARS @seriousbanter_
overseen by an unfeeling political class & observed passively by a barely surviving middle aged middle class, broken by years of military oppression.

It can’t continue.

You might be afraid, but they’re not, & they don’t hold it against you...
#EndSARS @seriousbanter_
You don’t have to join the protests...

But you shouldn’t criticize them either.

They know your kids / family are likely either in Canada, UK, or the US...

And that’s good,

But not everyone enjoys the privilege of leaving & not everyone wants it...
#EndSARS @seriousbanter_
They just want a country to call their own.

Where the only dream they have should not be about what’s beyond the border & behind a passport control desk...or beyond the deserts of Libya & Morocco.

They want a Nigeria that works.
Not vibes & Insha Allah
#EndSARS @seriousbanter_
But that’s not even what the protest is about right now.

They’ll get there.
ATM, they’re just asking not to be killed for walking the street.
Not a 3rd Niger Bridge. Not a 5th Mainland Bridge. Not a West/East Road. Not a 4th refinery.
to just not be killed like dogs #EndSARS
And y’all are complaining about traffic ?!

... this is now an inbound tsunami...
If they need to keep you in traffic for a few hours to change things for everyone...

Deal with it!

People are dying out there...
#EndSARS @seriousbanter_ Image
Iyalaya anybody!!!!

F&$&ing #EndSARS!!!!

Broken down to its essence, the #EndSARS protests are really about the #righttolife of citizens. It raises the largely ignored question(in Nigeria) of capital punishment.
Given our rather bloody history, if we want to really change the National orientation as regards the sanctity of life,we should elevate the conversation. Does the State have the right to take life in any circumstance? Should we still have the death sentence in our laws? #EndSARS
As we begin to talk about reforms, we should note that reforms would need to be based on a mutually agreed values. What is the value we place on human life as a people?#EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigera
