Women empowerment or ignorance? — a thread.

We all know that women are struggling in Pakistan. They aren’t free (keeping all contexts in mind). Their basic humans rights are violated. They are suppressed, silenced, raped and killed in this male dominant society. We know 1/6
that this is an alarming problem. The question arises here that, ‘how can we solve the problem.’ Here, we need to think CRITICALLY that, are we really solving the problem or we’re living in our ignorance? Are we really empowering women when we talk about it? 2/6
I’ve seen male feminists while giving talks to women. “You all aren’t free to go out, your society won’t allow you, there’s ‘male dominancy.’ Your society doesn’t allow you.” Okay! We know these problems exist, but what we really need to do in order to solve these problems? 3/6
Aren’t you spreading more fear and hatred? Have you ever thought about the choice of your words? By giving stress on “women aren’t free here” you actually make them more scared to raise their voices. Believe me, it effects them psychologically. Why don’t you say “women CAN?” 4/6
We need to show them the ways that how can they raise their voices. Instead of mentioning the problem(s), we need to look for the solutions. Don’t scare them, tell them, “Yes, here women are suppressed; but we can solve this problem by trying this strategy...” 5/6
Empower them, make them feel special, choose your words wisely. Show them the ways; they know what are the problems, but how can they/we solve them? — that’s the question. 6/6
