When Christians make a political party or presidential candidate more important to them than God (an idol), then many things happen:

• First, they begin to falsely believe that their ultimate home is not Heaven, but America or a political party.
2.) Second, they begin to falsely believe all of their favorite political party’s and Presidential candidate’s policies and views line up with God’s Character and Word.
3.) Third, they begin to falsely believe one can only be a true Christian if they support a certain political party and vote for a specific candidate.
4.) Fourth, they only see the flaws of the opposing political party and presidential candidate, but not the flaws on the side they lean.
5.) Fifth, they begin to see other Christians who vote differently as enemies, not brothers and sisters in Christ who make up the Church.

Sixth, they begin to falsely believe their favorite political party and presidential candidate is their Savior, not Jesus.
6.) All of these are false and incompatible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And Satan and the dark forces of the world want us to believe them.

1.) Timothy Keller on the Church and Politics:

“One of the many reasons for the decline of church-going and religion in the U.S. is that increasingly Christians are seen as highly partisan foot-soldiers for political movements.
2.) This is both divisive within the church and discrediting out in the world. Many Christians publicly disown and attack other believers who share the same beliefs in Christ, but who are voting for the “wrong” candidates.
3.) They seem to feel a more common bond with people of the same politics than of the same faith. Paul insists that Christians must not let legal or political differences supersede their oneness in Christ (1 Corinthians 6:6-7). We need to be political but not partisan.”

1.) Through @TheImmCoalition’s Water For Immigrants initiative, we provided clean water to 1,500+ Migrant families today at the Southern Border in Matamoros. ImageImageImage
2.) We were able to go around the tents and see Migrant families using the clean water to drink, clean, and cook with. We are so thankful God is allowing us to provide clean drinking water every week! ImageImageImageImage
3.) Every Migrant family receives one 5-gallon water jug each week. It lasts 2-3 days. Our goal is to provide every Migrant family with one 5-gallon water jug every day of the week so they have more than enough water to live on. They deserve it!

Yes, the Trump administration’s Zero tolerance policy at the U.S.-Mexico border separated thousands of children from their families in ways that had not been done before. He’s also tried to get rid of legal immigration.
2.) However, the very same cages and detention centers were built and used under Obama’s administration for the same purpose of holding migrant kids temporarily.
3.) In other words, Trump’s administration used detention facilities that were built during the Obama-Biden administration to house Migrant children at the U.S.-Mexico border. I say this so we know the facts.

The Church, in many ways, has become so politicized that when a Pastor brings up a group of people Jesus commands us to love from the pulpit, often times many (not all!) in the congregation automatically associates them with a political party’s motive/views.
2.) Examples:

Pastor: “Love Immigrants/Migrants.”
Congregation: “He’s a far left Democrat.”

Pastor: “Love unborn babies.”
Congregation: “He’s a far right Republican.”

Pastor: “Love and respect women.”
Congregation: “He’s a far left Democrat.”
3.) Pastor: “Love people of color.”
Congregation: “He’s a far left Democrat.”

Pastor: “Love the police.”
Congregation: “He’s a far right Republican.”

Pastor: “Love Veterans.”
Congregation: “He’s a far right Republican.”

1.) Myself along with 100 faith leaders around the U.S. signed a petition urging the Democratic Party to change their position on abortion & instead embrace a position that’s pro-life for unborn babies. The petition is being published on national news outlets across the country. Image

1.) THREAD - Defining the terms Latino, Hispanic, and Latinx:

Let me attempt to define each of these terms for better understanding. First, the term "Hispanic" refers to those who speak Spanish and/or who are descended from a Spanish speaking lineage.
2.) The term Hispanic was first introduced by the Nixon administration on the 1970 census. Some people say that Hispanic was an imposed term rather than something embraced by the community itself.
3.) Some argue the term Hispanic is a nod towards Spanish colonialism and shouldn’t be used. However, many studies have found that many if not most Hispanic Conservatives prefer the word when describing their families.
