Safe to say, Sen. Perdue has served in the Senate with Sen. Harris long enough that it's likely he does know how to actually pronounce her name...
There's also enough money pouring into these Senate races in Georgia that you can probably expect to see that in an ad in the imminent future...
Perdue statement says yes, he mispronounced Sen. Harris’ name “and he didn’t mean anything by it.”

But the audio clip suggests it was intentional, as cheers erupt from the crowd.

According to Georgia's absentee file 157,211 (!!!) voted in person Thursday. #gapol

1.12M total (580k mail/541k in person)

Big jumps for Gwinnett+Henry!

68 counties had >1,000 vote

~12,000 have voted at @StateFarmArena. (That’s more than 151 counties have seen ALL WEEK)
Fulton County has a wait time tracker up now! There's very little lines throughout most of the 30+ sites - including no wait at State Farm Arena!

73,000 people voted before noon in Georgia today. That's more than the capacity at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a Falcons game.

That's more than the registered voter populations of 130/159 counties in Georgia.

That's a lot of voting happening.

Fulton County officials said there will be minimal delays with the preparations for Election Day after nearly a *quarter* of its elections warehouse staff tested positive for COVID-19 this week. #gapol

gpb.org/news/2020/10/1…
Election Director Rick Barron said Thursday that 13 of 60 employees, or 21%, have the coronavirus, and measures to prevent further spread have been implemented immediately.

The northwest Atlanta elections warehouse is where voting equipment is stored, Logic and Accuracy testing is conducted and tabulation of election night results is completed.

Happening now - Fulton officials are giving a press briefing about a number of COVID-19 cases in the county's elections preparation warehouse. #gapol

13 of 60 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus.

The county is exploring bigger spaces to move into to complete the logic & accuracy testing for Election Day equipment, and find workers from other county departments or contractors to replace the staff that are out.

Nobody that has tested positive has any contact with voters, and this is separate from the central office that handles voter registration+absentee processing.

The Georgia Secretary of State's office says* it has fixed a bandwidth/capacity issue with the state's voter registration system that slowed check-in process this week+contributed to long lines. #gapol

(*we'll see)

gpb.org/news/2020/10/1…
Record absentee voting+more early voting sites = more users on the system.

"If you look at the amount of information that's flowing, it's like everyone jumping on I-285 in the morning, and sometimes you have to stagger out the rush hour," the SoS said.

gpb.org/news/2020/10/1…
The state's voter registration system is used to process absentee ballots (more than half a million returned so far) and to ensure that people have not already voted, since there are multiple EV locations in many counties that someone can choose from.

The Georgia State Election Board voted Thursday to lower the threshold of what counts as a vote for hand-marked absentee ballots while more directly instructing voters to complete their ballot by *fully filling in* their choices. #gapol

gpb.org/news/2020/09/1…
-Any mark the scanner detects as filling in 20% or more of an oval counts as a vote

-Less than 10% of the oval is not a vote

-Anything between 10-20% is flagged for a vote review panel to see if it was a stray mark or intended to be a vote #gapol

gpb.org/news/2020/09/1…
Also new language on the ballots:

"Warning, do not use red ink or a felt tip pen to mark the ballot. Do not circle, underline, or mark through ballot choices. Do not use 'check' marks or an 'X' to mark your ballot."

The Georgia Secretary of State's office is investigating how 1,000 people were able to allegedly cast both an absentee and in-person ballot in the June primary.

That's .09% of 1.1M absentee ballots returned. #gapol

What we know:
gpb.org/news/2020/09/0…
There's a state law, OCGA 21-2-572, that says any person who "otherwise fraudulently votes more than once at the same primary or election shall be guilty of a felony" and the penalty is 1-10 years in prison+up to $100k fine.

gpb.org/news/2020/09/0…
There are 150,000 people who requested an absentee ballot but decided to vote in person during early voting+election day.

State says 1,000 of those people *also* submitted an absentee ballot, too, ergo double-voting, which is illegal. #gapol

But...
