WHY A @WorldRugby BLANKET BAN OF TRANS FEMALES IS NOT JUSTIFIED: A study on 32 elite Women’s Rugby Players provide the policy makers for trans athletes with a good understanding of the physical fitness of elite female rugby union players.
1- Image
Instead of a blanket ban @WorldRugby could have adopted a similar process that assessed these elite female rugby players or they could have adopted a process similar to what the @aflwomens use to assess the relevant aspects of trans females; strength, stamina &/or physique...

In one of the 11 studies reviewed by Tucker et al they looked at ’scharff et al. 2019’ this study over 12mths found For TW, 66% of the decrease in grip strength (−1.2 kg) occurred in the last 3 months, while in TM 49% of the increase (+3.0 kg) occurred in the first 3 months.
This is constant with my own transition I lost my endurance very quickly, within a few months but my strength disapated over time 2 to 3 years but I was an outlined transitioned as an elite athlete. This study did not include a single trans athlete once again.
The authors recommended further research, definitely nothing in this 2019 study shows trans women to be a danger in women's rugby.…

No policy for trans athletes use as an automatic reduce T for 12mths & the trans athlete plays. Even within the IOC rules & with the rules of Rugby Eng & Aus & all other policies with the T limit the 12mths can be extended indefinitely....
if a disparity in strength, endurance it physique exists.

Federal legislation in both Aus & Eng also legally protects sports if they have a trans athlete that they believe has a disparity in strength, endurance it physique exists. Sports can apply to legally discriminate...
Sports will need to show how the athlete has this disparity not the other way around. The onus is on the sports to do their proper homework first.

So much of what WR are saying is false. A blanket ban is not justified.

By exposing what myths in sport exist and how these operate to mask the produc- tion and reaffirmation of inequalities, opens the door to transforming the ways sport is organized, structured and understood.
In Western countries, the notion of sport as a level-playing field serves to normalize competition and hierarchies that are found in broader society.
As such, sport is a key socialization agent that serves to maintain social inequalities.

I jumped in my time-machine & landed in the middle of the 2035 World Athletics Championships in Paris.

It was 800 metres finals day, but to my surprise, there were 5 races scheduled, not two.
On inquiring, I learnt there had been a shake-up: the "men's" and "women's" classifications were no more; instead the classification system changed to one that was based on functional ability.
Rather than labelling athletes as male or female , they were placed in a racing category based on the movements their body can perform, related to the sport they compete in.

South African Rugby women Union High Performance Squad were assessed during the pre-season. The players were sub-divided into two positional categories consisting of 17 forwards and 15 backs.
The players underwent a comprehensive physical fitness testing (height, body mass and sum of seven skinfolds, sit-and-reach, vertical jump, 10m and 40m speed, 1 RM bench press, pull-ups, one minute push-ups and multi-stage shuttle run test).
Analysis of variance was used to examine the difference between forwards and back-line players with regards to physical fitness.
