A country whose riches in spin bowling department have always been unparalleled with the likes of Prassanna, Chandrashekhar, Bedi, Venkat Raghvan and many more, produced one more gem in early 90s. Tall, lean, lithe in his build and calm in nature, ANIL " JUMBO" KUMBLE had.......
scintillating charisma in his fingers. He was not Warne who use to produce lateral magic with his bowling. He had his own way of foxing the greatest of batsmen. His ball used to rush through the air rather than hanging in it and comes with a kick without turning it venomously. ..
A rigorous hard worker Kumble churns his way into the national side in 1990 but it was 1992 tour of South Africa that established him as a match winner when he took 6/53 against the Protease at Johannesburg, fast bowlers heaven !!! Also he finished the tour as the highest......
wicket taker from the Indian contingent. It was no looking back for him then. With 21 scalps, he helped India in whitewashing England on the home soil 3-0. His googly along with subtle variations like flipper, topspin and slider with his unerring accuracy continued to be the ....
nightmare for the batsmen as well as for the keepers keeping him. He also had his share of highs and lows. Always considered as a home track bully, his performance in overseas setup in his early career, made him the centre stone of criticism. But gradually he silenced his......
critics picking up 269 wickets away from home. Kumble picked up 10 5-wicket hauls and a 10-wicket haul overseas with SR of 74.5 and average 35.85. Talking particularly about SENA countries, in 35 matches he had 141 scalps to his name with SR of 80.2 and average 37.04. Unlike.....
others he always follow the aggressive way in these countries and had enjoyed bowling in Australia.
Picking 10/74 against Pakistan at Kotla in 1999 and emerging from the pavilion, ready to bowl, his face bandaged, in the Antigua Test of 2002, two incidents stuck in the conscience
of every cricket fan. Due to his never give up attitude, he was named India's test skipper in 2007 after the resignation of Rahul Dravid. His diplomatic handling of crisis moments during 2008 Australia series and especially of the controversial "Monkeygate" scandal made a.....
strong statement in the cricket world. "Only one team was playing with the right spirit" ,these were his words after the infamous Sydney test !!!
He decided to call it quits at the end of the Delhi Test against Australia in November 2008, where he was, ironically, struck for....
a boundary off his last ball in international cricket. With 619 Test and 337 ODI wickets he was a maverick in Indian cricket with his fighting spirit.
Happy birthday @anilkumble1074 sir.

Have a feeling that Hesson is repeating the same mistakes he had done with KXIP last year. If momentum is anything, you have to maintain it by not doing too much experiments in the name of matchups. Ah matchups !! How can you not send AB at 4, ok he struggled against leg spinners
and KXIP have two in their arsenals. For a moment can digest the Sundar move at 4, but after his dismissal AB was the perfect choice. He also needs time to settle, not a machine he is !!.
171 on the board on this pitch which was gripping and holding a bit, which Murugan Ashwin
himself admitted after the first innings was very much defendable. With Sundar and Chahal in your lineup you can expect that they wreck havoc on the opposition iff used wisely, Yes iff. Sundar who had a dream run bowling in PP and then in middle overs was held back and was not

RCB vs RR
After the humdinger of a match against MI, RCB somehow managed to pip their opponents in the nail biting Super Over. But it was not a complete performance by any scale for the bold army. Their death bowling woes again come to the picture, leaking 89 runs in 30 balls.
But against the heavyweight MI they would be very pleased to be on the right side and adding vital 2 points to their tally.
Coming to this match, RCB are up against RR who were in red hot form in Sharjah and despite their overseas players missing they stunned CSK and KXIP.
But got hammered by KKR in Dubai, so it will be very exciting to see how they acclimatize to the Abu Dhabi slow and sluggish wicket. Talking about recent encounters between the 2 teams RR have the upper hand with Sanju Samson and Shreyas Gopal the wrecker in chief.
