Remember stated reason by WH for why Trump fired Comey? That he concurred with Rosenstein's conclusions?

Rosenstein dinged Comey for publicly releasing derogatory info on someone not charged with a crime (Hillary Clinton), usurping prosecutors' role & saying he'd do it again.
.@JohnCornyn in particular found Rosenstein's criticisms of Comey "compelling" and challenged Wray to *pledge* not to repeat his mistakes. 2/
Wray told Cornyn it's ***never been his practice to release derogatory information about uncharged individuals***, nor to usurp the prosecutor role.

"Those policies are important," he said.
At the time, the nascent Mueller Russia investigation was front-and-center.
Today, Wray is trending because a lot of Republicans are mad at him for not *releasing derogatory information about uncharged individuals* — the Bidens.

Don't see how he does that while keeping his word to Cornyn and the other Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee who then voted to confirm him?

Mitch McConnell just voted early in Kentucky.

Wearing his mask.
"Do your job!" someone yelled as McConnell approached polling station.
McConnell brushed off the heckling at a follow-on press conference.

"That's my life. There's plenty of unpleasantness that comes with this job."

There are no United States senators who have told me their vote to pass the 2017 tax bill was intended to toss the ACA. Zero.
If the 2017 tax law had included tossing the entire ACA, it almost certainly would not have complied with the Senate's rules allowing it to to pass with a simple majority, and Collins & McCain & Murkowski and maybe others would have voted no.
Lamar Alexander in particular has torched the lawsuit

People forget that the Republican position 7 years ago was to practice nullification of DC Circuit positions with a policy of filibustering whoever Obama nominated.

This led directly to the nuclear option, which many Rs wanted to detonate in 2005 after D filibusters.
Many Obama noms were then clogged ahead of 2016 election including Merrick Garland.

Nuclear option in turn helped grease skids for McConnell to go nuclear for Supreme Court.
There were some Republicans and other folks who were talking up blocking all of Hillary Clinton’s nominees if she won.

Republican senators declining to get tested for COVID in past week or so include McConnell, Graham, Grassley
McConnell has also resisted Schumer push for a testing and contact tracing regime for all senators and staff; he's said they've successfully followed CDC protocols and sees no need to change in foreseeable future.

He's dinged WH protocols (No masks/distancing).
3 Republican senators have tested positive in the past couple-week outbreak — Mike Lee/Thom Tillis/Ron Johnson.

Two other Republican senators had it earlier: Rand Paul/Cassidy.

2 Democratic sens have been positive for COVID antibodies: Kaine/Casey
