it is pretty funny that after psychically ingesting something like the 90% of the total hours there are of collective star trek media, i still have next to no idea of what day-to-day living is like for anyone not in starfleet
endless pages of scrawling lore about the intricacies of bajoran religion and then just a single line that says "earth = all vineyards???"
oops all vineyards
a well of worldbuilding so deep you cannot see the bottom that never actually answers the question "so uh what do most people do"

that is a wild amount of time to spend in the icu (which is where you go when your covid death chances become a coinflip) & given how low the mortality rate is among the powerful i am now VERY interested in learning more about the drugs that the public apparently cannot access
if i knew this would go viral I'd have been more deliberate with certain phrasings but what i mean is the number of powerful assholes who have gotten dangerously covid sick and recovered feels statistically aberrant, and we know some have received otherwise unavailable treatments
as a few people have correctly pointed out, a week isn't an especially unusual length of stay in the icu; what i mean to illustrate is that a week long stay for a covid patient indicates that there was a prolonged severe risk of death
