Game Day Thread Let's Go 😤
Browns Attack:
Landry has a 77.8% catch rating, and he'll face #23 Joe Haden, who's allowed 9 catches on 19 targets for 165 yards and 1 touchdown.
Browns Defend:
Browns must stop YAC yards
YAC for the season allowed vs. gained
#28 Johnson 11 vs. #19 Smith-Schuster 124 yards
#56 Smith 97 vs. #85 Ebron 37 yards
#21 Ward 32 yards vs. #11 Claypool 121 yards
#39 Mitchell 102 vs. #13 Washington 51 yards
Browns Attack:
Mayfield's strength is throwing right side, and in the last 3 games, the Steelers have allowed 7 catches on 13 targets for 169 yards with 2 touchdowns for a passer rating of 138.9.
Browns Defend:
Key match-ups
Catch rate allowed vs. catch rate.
#21 Ward 59.3% vs #11 Claypool 68.4%
#39 Mitchell 51.4% vs. #13 Washington 72.2%
#28 Johnson 100% vs. #19 Smith-Schuster 87.5%
#56 Smith 81% vs. #85 Ebron 70%
#93 Goodson 73.5% vs. #89 McDonald 75%
Browns Attack:
Austin Hooper will have a favorable match-up against linebacker #98 Vince Williams who has the lowest cover grade of all Steelers defenders with a 28.8. Williams has allowed 9 catches on 15 targets for 96 yards
Browns Defend:
Quarterback #7 Roethlisberger has turned into a dink and dunk QB with 96 of his 163 pass attempts (58.89%) 10 yards or less. The Browns linebackers will need to stay alert and keep the play in front of them.
Browns Attack: Part 1
One of my favorite match-ups will be Odell vs. #22 Nelson. While Nelson has shown improvement, he's not faced anyone like OBJ.
Browns Attack: Part 2
Nelson has allowed 13 catches on 22 targets for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Nelson will also not get much help from FS #39 Fitzpatrick, who's allowed 3 catches on 4 targets for 41 yards.
Browns Defend: Part 1
Quarterback #7 Roethlisberger's primary target area after 4 games is the left side, with 37 of his 163 (22.69%) attempts going that direction.
Browns Defend: Part 2
#39 Mitchell along with #23 Sendejo will need to play at the highest level on Sunday, and Sendejo, who's allowed 61.1 % of his targets and 176 YAC yards, will be vital to the success of the defense.
Browns Attack:
While the Steelers are ranked 4th in run defense, they do have a weak spot. Melvin Gordon found success running left side with 5 attempts for 43 yards.
Miles Sanders was also able to success up the middle with a 74 yard TD run as well.
Browns Defend:
#7 Roethlisberger's passing safety zone after 4 games is between the numbers (middle of the field) 0 to 10 yards. Completing 38 of 47 attempts, the Steelers have gained 326 yards and 2 TDs. After playing a limited role #29 Redwine can take away Ben's safe zone.
Browns Attack:
The Steelers linebackers #55 Bush and #98 Williams have struggled to match-up against tight ends in the last 3 games. The duo has allowed 24 catches on 35 targets overall for 199 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. Quarterbacks are completing 68.57%
Browns Defend:
Browns defensive tackle #98 Richardson will match-up against right guard #69 Dotson, who has a total of 125 regular-season snaps in his NFL career. Dotson against the Eagles allowed 1 pressure and committed 2 penalties. Richardson 2 sacks and 11 hurries this season
Browns Defend: Part 1
Steelers running back #30 Conner has found his greatest success running right and outside the tight end. With 12 attempts, he's averaging 9.3 yards per play and 7.25 yards after contact. Linebacker #56 Smith, with 17 tackles and 7 stops, will be vital.
Browns Defend: Part 2
#29 Redwine, who faced the Steelers wk 13, earned a PFF run grade of 75.5 in 2019 will also need to step up in slowing yards after contact from Conner.
Browns Defend: Part 1
#95 Garrett will match-up against #76 Okorafor, who holds the lowest PFF grade for the Steelers offensive line Sunday.
Browns Defend: Part 2
Okorafor has allowed 1 hit and 3 hurries against subpar competition, then Garrett will have his hands full. With the Browns secondary stressed from injury, Garrett will need to take over the game once again.
