Brexit wars came, then Trump wars followed. They won both.

Brexit wars II was to “get Brexit done”. They won.

Trump wars II just started.

I would think at least we in the UK learnt the lesson of hubristic dismissal & thoughtless wanton denial by now. Apparently not.

Again, whoever wins (it isn’t over yet, by a long way) what admittedly concerns me is just how quickly mainstream pundits - almost with unanimity - are prepared to repeat the same mistakes, over & again.

This incurious dismissal of Trump voter concerns is very bad for *everyone*
Even a *very* brief internet search reveals Trump voter concerns that are at the very least worth pondering.

And yes, I’ve also looked at the “disinformation” rebuttals.

Look at both.

Why have we become so incurious?

Agree or disagree with Trump, but stop weaponising our ethnicity or culture to do so.

I learnt how to think better via traditional Arabic legal philosophers (الأصوليين)

Ancient Arabic books on the principles of jurisprudence are some of most powerful displays of legal logic and linguistic philosophy you can find. So many of them are preserved.
Unbeknownst to many, they are replete with reverence for the commentary & thinking of Plato & Aristotle
It is worth noting the role Arab Jews also played in this ‘golden era’ for medieval Muslim thought.

Here’s to a similar, new era of reenlightenment for our times 🙏🏽🧿
