People will write entire diatribes to redeem white people who aided and abetted crimes against humanity in this administration but think there “must have been a reason” the police killed someone like Breonna Taylor.

Stop playing in my face.
The white redemption stories for the members of this criminal enterprise called an “administration” are NUMEROUS, but Black people get criminalized in our own murders.

The jig is in OUTER SPACE.
What in the entire hell are the loved ones of 250,000 dead people, the children still in cages, or the victims of hate crimes emboldened by this occupant supposed to do with “they were really sad in secret.”
“I had so much anguish when I signed that order to separate your family.”
The truth: you’re not even trying to redeem others w these hillbilly elegy a** threads.

You’re trying to redeem yourself. Because you know you’d do the same thing they did.

If y’all had half the courage marginalized people need just to BREATHE we wouldn’t be in this mess.
I swore I wouldn’t do this.

Let me go back to protecting my peace and managing my blood pressure because y’all gon spike it right before the holidays and I do not have the time. This week has been hard enough.

.@bing, why is Letitia James listed as the "first African American *orangutang*" elected to her position?

If wondering, the wiki language it appears to be mostly pulled from says 'person.'

I just took these screenshots myself. What in the world??? ImageImage
If the issue is that some racist person changed it on wikipedia before it was changed back, @bing ought to have a stopgap before it pulls that kind of language. If the issue is that someone at Bing did this, they gotta go.
I see all the people saying "they grabbed the data at the wrong moment."

Listen to me clearly: I KNOW thats a possibility. That's why I included the screenshot. My POINT is that *THERE SHOULD BE STOP GAPS FOR THIS BEFORE IT HAPPENS,* OR STOP PULLING FROM WIKI.

Just came back for a spell to say...

The continued fight requires multiple tactics on multiple fronts.

Let’s each play our part.
Yelling at activists that “Biden can’t act yet” isn’t helpful. It’s also incorrect. Transition teams are moving. Resumes are being reviewed. Teams are being built. Who occupies administration roles will matter GREATLY. Now is *exactly* the time to exert pressure. 1/20/21 is late.
There are policy transition teams and personnel transition teams. They are formulating strategies, hires, research and approaches *now.*

And this happens every transition. Sharing bc I really think many folks don’t know this process.

I know there is plenty morework for us to do in every community.

But both the VP and POTUS elect just said the phrase “systemic racism” onstage during the victory speeches.

That’s a significant marker for the protest, political and cultural change of this past decade.
Our next step is turning it into policy.

Which includes grabbing those ATL senate seats to make more progressive, Black-centered, and marginalized ppl-focused policy much easier to move.
Same is true for the phrase “transgender people.”

I can’t speak for a community of which I’m not a part, but I def heard it and I hope every cis person did too.

.@Sifill_LDF. @KristenClarkeJD. @iKaylaReed. @_ashdashlee_. @MsLaToshaBrown. @MsPeoples. @LeslieMac. @jotakaeaddy.

Just a *tiny* sampling of the Black women who were on the ground and in courtrooms and on late night zooms in community and making it happen.
This isn’t even all of the Black women politicos who, on the Biden-Harris campaign and off, did painstaking work.

@AlenciaJohnson. @AshleyEtienne09. @ashleyrallison. @SymoneDSanders. @CAMONGHNE. @itsdshawna.

And let’s not forget @StephLYoung. @call_me_cue. @stefbrownjames.
That’s literally the tip of the iceberg. Literally.

Just wanted to say I see y’all and I love y’all.

A quick note on Florida:

Biden lost by about 400K votes. Gov. DeSantis worked VERY hard to maintain the disenfranchisement of the *1.4 million* Formerly incarcerated folks that Florida voters said should have their rights back.
.@FLRightsRestore did a TON of work to get fines and fees paid and folks registered and turned out after hard rulings. @Dreamdefenders & others did a TON of work to organize the community

Do NOT paint FL w a broad brush OR discount the role of suppression.

It is wrong to do so
ORGANIZERS deserve your support, period.

Whether it was places like Missouri that went red but passed Medicaid expansion and closed the Workhouse just this summer...

Or Florida or Texas that were competitive for the first time in a long time...

Or GA, PA etc who flipped.
